Hi everyone.

I recently brought my car in for service & my brother asked me why I didn't mention any concerns about my seats. At first, I was like, what about them? He said I should've mentioned something about how my seats were already creasing/cracking at only 29,5k and when I only weigh 100lbs. In comparison to his car, at ~70k, my seats look worse than his.

I contacted MB about this, they asked me how many miles I had & I told them 29,5k, and they told me to bring it in for them to have a look at it when I'm free. But now I'm wondering if this is something that is bound to occur w/ leather & if I should find alternative ways to fix this first to save myself the trip to MB if they can't/won't do anything about it.

What are your thoughts?

I thought this was about the vinyl seats at first. There are some long running threads of those cracking and ripping open.

That seems a bit extreme for a 2013 car. I would expect them to look new still.

I really don't see the cracks but I do see creases. Use a quality conditioner like LeatherMasters Vital to hydrate the leather.

In my opinion the drivers seat looks great. It is showing signs of use therefore softening up & looking 'lived in'. It is a natural process for leather called patina.

It should be cleaned & oiled regularly to keep it soft & prevent cracking . It is also a good idea to use sun shades on the windscreen to stop sun fade & excessive heat & drying.

Leather is a natural product & when it is good quality & cared for will last & develop patina over a long period. Brand new pristine leather seats in a vintage car looks out of place.

I don't see anything wrong with the leather. That is natural. You won't see creases like that on a MB Tex but the MB tex tends to rip easier on the seams. I bet you have not applied leather conditioner on that seat since you got the car and if so that will be the result. No matter what you do you will see creases on a leather specially if you use the car every single day no matter how heavy you are.

Yeah, like I said I figured that it's bound to happen but I often second guess myself so that's why I ask. I use Zaino on my seats to help keep the shine whenever I vaccuum and clean out my car. In these pics they haven't been applied for over a month--it's been too cold. Thanks for saving me the trip.

Maybe next time you should navigate your meticulous attention to detail toward the replies because it has clearly been resolved- no need for your two cents. And unfortunately, I cleaned it off after seeing it, otherwise I would've called for you to do it cause you're a total d!ck.

I would agree with everyone else about the creases being something that occurs naturally with the leather. However, looking at the seat bottom it almost looks like the back most section leather is kind of loose or the padding underneath is not supporting it well. I could see that in a much older car, but looks surprising to see that in a car less than a couple years old.

Nice seeing leather in one of these cars. That is a very rare option. You hardly see it it.

Lisa unfortunately its regular wear and tear and the result of getting in and out of the seat. It drives me crazy and looks worse the lighter the leather color is. The best stuff on the market is called leathertique and its been around for 40 yrs though some swear by lexol. This will condition and release the oils and grime from the leather while preserving and moisturizing.

Your seats look fine. Normal wear and tear. Use zymol leather cleaner and conditioner regularly.
