How to make C350 exhaust loud?

Hello, I just got a 2013 Mercedes C350 coupe and I am new to this community. I really want to make my exhaust sound loud and nice. I've been watching videos of people's C350s on YouTube and the only thing that really seemed to sound appealing was the Eisenmann racing exhaust. It's thousands of dollars though!!! In addition, Youtube videos never do an exhaust justice, so I wanted to ask you guys if you knew of any other cheaper options under $1500, the cheaper the better. I want to do something that won't void the warranty. I just want it to sound sexy and loud... The stock exhaust just doesn't do it for me. Thanks!

xpipe will give you a louder sound for 250$ thats with install other than that everything else is pricy unfortunately you basically need to buy a whole new exhaust system it sucks but a lot of people go with the x-pipe as the cost is a ton cheeper there are tons of videos on youtube check them out you might like that option

A C350 opened up on the highway next to me a couple days ago and I was astounded how loud it was. That's not really my thing though. I'm more a fan of an understated quiet power.

However, it wasn't annoying like some of the rices and WRXs get.

+1 i like the quite power but I also do like to hear the engine sometimes x-pipe won't leave a drone (thats what people say) but it does make the current sound a bit louder and yes the WRXs are just as bad as the honda civics that go farting by lol

Yeah, I'm ok with a nice note at WOT but needless drone in stop and go traffic really ticks me off.

Start with a muffler delete. You should be able to unclamp the muffler from the drivers side and that will give you an idea, you can always put it back in a matter of minutes. If not enough go for an xpipe which will be more of a permanent install. If you want to keep mufflers, look into flowmasters or magnaflows which won't cause as much drone.

I vote for no drone as a common courtesy to other drivers. It also provides a nice contrast for an open throttle.

Cutouts would be cool, thinking about them for my car. Loud when you want it, quiet when you need it. Just don't get those cheap no name brands on eBay, I heard the mechanisms go out on those quickly. QTP www.QuickTimePerformance.com makes some quality cutouts.

It's a C300 but is the only vid on YouTube I can find with exhaust cutouts on a W204 v6

Other than that X-pipe + muffler delete would probably the loudest, take out Secondary cats too if you want REAAALLY loud lol.
But prepare for the drone to ya dome...

I keep going back and forth on the x-pipe decision but that video might of sold me. it sounds good on the c300 BUT the valve system is ridiculously loud and you hear that huge drone at high rpms (with the x pipe) also those systems are pricy and seem to last a 2-3 years only depending on where you live and the quality you get

but the old saying is you get what you pay for so if you go that route don't cheep out

I have a c350 sedan and I got full custom exhaust. I went custom x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers. If you go the x-pipe route, you can get flowmaster mufflers if you want loud. I went with magnaflow mufflers because I wanted louder but not obnoxious. I always get compliments/comments about my exhaust system. Quiet when needed, and when in Sport mode and/or WOT it can sound mean.

Here's a video of Anish's C350 coupe (he's in the w204 coupe forums) with the exact same setup as me, minus the quad-tail pipes. I suggested the install for him and he just recently got it done. The mods are OE Tune, x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers.

You need to be a lot more specific than Magnaflow mufflers. They have so many different models, sizes and designs that each one will sound completely different on the same car. I've watched a few videos on youtube of 350s with magnaflow and none of them sound good. The one you posted actually has a very pleasing note.
Even so, it comes no where near close to the Eisenmann or Meisterschaft sound IMO.

Do the X-pipe and be done with it. It will be enough to get people to look at you and either have "you are a moron" or "that sounds mean" look without spending more than $250.

Anyone know how the stock system is? A straight pipe with resonator or x pipe with resonator.
I have been reading the different configurations and maybe a H pipe is another alternative.

from what i've been reading, a "Y" pipe might also be an alternative, however i've heard that "X" pipes sound better. people on the C6 forums are more of a fan of the "Y" pipes--only because the produce enough power to enjoy it. i think that the "Y" pipe gives you more back pressure (which is what you want for all-motor cars) as opposed to the "X" pipe which sounds better, but gives you less back pressure. i personally have a 2011 c300 and i have an "X" pipe--although i've been thinking about swapping to a "Y" pipe" and magnaflow mufflers-i initially went with a muffler delete, but the drone was UNBEARABLE! thee worst experience of my life. windows up, down, street, freeway: it's terrible. some people do a primary or secondary cat delete--and if you live in cali, i head you still pass smog, but it gives you less of a deep throaty sound and more of a wound-y sound--more of a v10 sound and less of a v8 sound. if you decide to go with an "X" or Y" pipe and mufflers you want 2.25in inlets and outlets.

-good luck! and welcome to the family. it's a good one.

I got an x-pipe but I would like to do a muffler delete but that doesn't sound good if you don't want drone at cruising RPMs. What about Magmaflow Mufflers? Anyone have experience with those? And if you could mention which muffler exactly, that would be great.

On my 2013 C350, i have a muffler delete, with x-pipes and amg tips.

I got the x-pipes installed first. Read a whole bunch of forums/post beforehand about x-pipes, got me all hyped up, but I was EXTREMELY disappointed after they were installed. Sounded exactly the same. Only difference was that i lost $200 for part+Install....

Shortly after, I had my muffler delete. Best decision ever! Was so much deeper and louder, exactly what i was looking for. IMHO for droning, if you are a spirited driver like me, don't really cruise to get from point A to point B, then GET THE MUFFLER DELETE!! Your daily drives will become so much more fun.

For people who cruise, it might get a bit annoying BUT with your window down and music turned up just a little bit louder than usual, then the droning isn't too bad. However, there will be droning regardless of what RPM range you are on.

What's the part number for these magnaflow mufflers? I have a 2012 c350 sedan and may consider this setup. Also is it true if I do muffler delete I will lose low end torque?

I did a secondary cat delete and resonator delete and put the x-pipe in place of the resonator and it wasnt enough so i then replaced the stock mufflers with magnaflow mufflers and everything combined it sounds perfect the little bit of drone i dont mind. But i would recommend that setup. I didnt feel any loss in power. Try a tcu reset.

Part number is 11226 it will fit.
And no i meant TCU reset it resets the transmission control unit so the throttle re-learns to your specific way of driving and will be more responsive. You can also do a ecu tune i did kleeman. C300 and c350 have same engines just de-tuned on the c300 so you can tune it to put out same hp and torque as c350
