2008 c300 exhaust

2 questions:

1) I'm thinking about getting an x pipe for my 2008
c300 but need some good brand recommendations.

2) I'm also thinking about getting some mufflers/tips
for my car also. Any recommendations on those?

1) Any brand will work, I chose a stamped design magnaflow xpipe, 2.25 inch or 2.5 inch diameter would work. There is also a cheaper lawson xpipe that is just as effective. You could also have your muffler shop fabricate one for you.

2) I don't have much experience with mufflers or tips, maybe another forum member could assist you.

Also, try to use the search function on the forums, this has been discussed multiple times and there should be lots of easily accessible, useful information out there.

Here is the exact Xpipe I got it for my car:
Amazon.com: Magnaflow 10790 Tru - X Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust Pipe: Automotive Amazon.com: Magnaflow 10790 Tru - X Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust Pipe: Automotive

As for muffler, just delete them. I did that about two year and never regretted it.

Do some more research I've read if you get the 2.5 they need to modify it a little. I was looking for an x-pipe/ debating on do this mod and what I found was the majority of people go with the 2.25 BUT research it a little more..

My muffler guy used a 2.5 instead of 2.25 so that he could just slide the straight pipes and stock pipes into the xpipe and weld it easily.

you're paying the same price for installation regardless. should have gotten the 2.25 (PROPER FITMENT) instead of the "easy" 2.5 fitment.

I'm not an exhaust professional nor do I have a PhD in fluid dynamics, but I've asked a few professionals and they have all told me the difference is negligible. Seems pretty obvious already that it wouldn't realistically matter, given that it's only .25 an inch difference. My muffler guy is also the highest rated in my area, so I trust his decisions.

Thanks for the advice though, I had no idea that a 2.25 inch exhaust pipe would be an exact and proper fit for a 2.25 xpipe . I paid $150 out the door, and it sounds amazing so I'm a happy camper.
