Quite a few people run MagnaFlow mufflers, I got them on my car and I really like them, not loud at all and zero in cabin drone...not 100% positive cause I forgot to ask the folks at the muffler shop but I think the part # is #11365 for the ones I have...

Here's a vid I took the same day of install with some pics from under the car...

and here's one of my most recent clips where I've had it on for a few months...I also have an in cabin cruise for this setup on my channel if you're curious how it sounds inside

Those look good. I'm guessing custom tips as well?

The difference between having only the x-pipe/ OE muffler and Mr. brightside's setup it that his setup has a earlier and longer deep sound. It also sounded smoother on higher RPMs where as the one with just the x-pipe has more rasp, burp and rattle sound on higher RPMs which sounds meaner specially in a tunnel or parkade.

Yeah, OEM mufflers got a higher pitch tone to them, the Magnaflows offer a deeper cleaner tone.

The quad tips are from www.topspeedauto.com They offer them in burnt tip style like the one I have, and a regular polished tip as well.

Did the straight mod

So Friday I went to the garage to do my car straight.
Really disappointed about the sound it's wayyy to loud in the car. Thus making it sound like a Honda driven by a 16 years old.
BUT omg on the highway it's so mean and sounding perfect.

So what I did I bought 2 magnaflow 11226 and waiting for them to get delivered.

I'll do this install and let it this way hopefully getting a bit more sound than with the X pipe + stock mufflers.
I'll keep you in touch.
Thank you all

Just saying, if I was going to change my mufflers, I'd use flowmaster super 40 or 44 mufflers. They have a deeper tone.

Its going to sound EXACTLY like the first video posted in this thread. I know that as that’s pretty much exactly how mine sounds as well.
I’m glad I didn’t have my secondary cats removed but honestly I liked the sound outside the car with that done. I think the drone would’ve drove me nuts though.
Here’s a tip..or at least what I did.. I ordered my MF 11226’s on Amazon for about $90 ea so obviously at that price they won’t be polished, and with that muffler, to install it correctly, they have to be angled up toward the quarter panel on their axis about 15-20 degrees and you’ll be able to see a portion of them since the tips will no longer ‘hide’ them. So I grabbed some high temp black paint and spayed them so they won’t be noticeable. If they’re polished, awesome! But if they’re not, they will show oxidation/rust and wear and will be visible so that was my solution.

Did you see them hanging out in the back of your car like the previous guy told me it would ?
Is this why he used the 11365 over the 11226 parts ?
Thank you for your time !!

If you're in the Bay Area I have Magnaflows I'm about to chop off. Tips included if you want too.

Will let them go for cheap. If you're local and have a 220 outlet I can plug my welder into, I'll give them to you for free.
Even better if you already have a welding setup (and wouldn't mind welding back on my OEM mufflers lol)

The X-Pipe really is the best mod for the exhaust on our C300's. It adds the perfect amount of sound. I've considered adding magnaflow or borla mufflers, but I don't think it needs more sound, given it's not going to win any land speed records. I had my 93 Octane tuned though and that helped a lot with throttle response and speed. For those of you who have added magnaflow mufflers, which ones are the best for not adding drone just more deep tone? Mine just hit 60k miles. Changed the spark plugs.

Do you recommend the cone intake filters on this car? I have the K&N drop ins currently.
Yours is rear wheel drive I assume since you have the megan racing coilovers. How do you like those? Mine is 4matic so won't be getting them, but just wondering if they are any good. Do you know of any suspension mods for my 4-matic I could have installed?

Magnaflow. 11226. They have to be turned up at a slight angle to sit correctly but it doesn’t cause any clearance issues, even in a lowered W204 such as mine. Do not use an open cone filter. The dual intake tubes pulling air from the front grille are your best bet.

As to suspension components for the 4Matic, H&R makes springs for them but they’re not super low. I personally like them because I’m up at the mountain about 30-40 times in the winter so I didn’t want my car slammed. Some say they’re not low enough but I disagree. My car is lower than the Sport model and I can still drive in the Mt. Baker parking lot after 8”+ of new snow.
Also, there is an option for coilovers for the 4matic. Flatout Suspension makes a set of coilovers and the quality is great. Google them, and if you have any questions they respond right away via text or email. They’re made to order so they take about 3 weeks but they’re worth it. And the price is very reasonable-to-inexpensive.

Magnaflow 11226's shipped, should arrive next week, also adding a strut bar. I am concerned about bounciness with lowering springs and wearing out the shocks. Thanks for the info @Stuntman Mike

2011 C350
2011 C350, W204 M272 Exhaust Project

I must have browsed 1000 sites, setups, sound clips and read through most of this thread and others here on MBWorld, and have landed on 2 setups:
ARH Headers + Remus catback:
Meisterschaft resonator delete catback:

Unfortunately, Remus is a gongshow and months of Backorder clients are going Meisterschaft. Also ARH isn't selling anything compatible at this time.

So here's my plan:
- MBH Headers
- MBH High Flow Cats
- 2.5" pipe
- Magnaflow #10791 X-pipe
- Either:
- Magnaflow 11386 Stainless Steel 2.5" Oval Muffler (just to tone down a bit, may delete this later)
or
- 2x Vibrant 1792 Bottle Style Resonator (just to tone down a bit, may delete this later)
- Meisterschaft 4x120x80 CO axelback
-
Meisterschaft Glossy black tips
- Stage 2 Tune
- Jcsportline Carbon Fiber Rear Lip Dual Outlet Diffuser

Hoping for +150whp when done... although +100whp would be good enough.

Feedback?

What was done as far as the “tune” goes? I’m curious what any tune would do with our n/a V6’s... aside from raising or eliminating the rev limiter, and some minor fuel mapping to maximize mileage and possibly squeeze an extra pony or two.
Although I have seen a “faux ‘burble’ tune” available for the 272, as well as many other naturally aspirated engines. That one seriously made me laugh out loud 🤣
