the look of your Magnaflow X-pipe

So i got this X-pipe today for 144$tax included Canadian they run from 135-200$ plus tax here

just wondering about the look of it there was weld splatter all over one side i had to grind off i should of took a picture but wondering if anyone else's look awful when they received it i just snapped quick pictures so ppl can see see.... i know its under the car but still it looked like **** hahaha was expecting a little more but once I personally cleaned it it looked better just disappointing it didn't come cleaned up.

also the welds don't look the best its like its done in 4 parts then they missed and blobbed on some more weld to cover it its not smooth like other ones I've seen online

maybe I'm over thinking it but from another post back in 2009 it looked like the person ended up with a fake one looked exactly like mine.

That's how mine looked. Like you said, it's under the car, you won't notice it.

Thanks just wanted to make sure I don't want it to be a fake rust and go through headache of getting another one. I think it was the splatter that threw me off the most I should of snapped a picture of it.

Mine was brand new and came with some surface rust. That's why most people just get the Lawson Industries X-Pipe. Cheaper and no one will notice.

Been using the Lawson X-pipe for a year now. Its SS 409 which will last the life of the car in my area and seems to be the same stamp piece as the magnaflow.

This is the one given to me by a friend, looks very clean and well made but from what I understand it's one of the cheaper generic X-pipes. I don't think appearance is much of a concern, I'll be curious to see if this one holds up to rust when I get it installed this spring

I'd pass on this mod unless you get a custom high quality one made. I lifted my car everything is rust free except for the damn xpipe it looks out of place. It just adds sound don't get me wrong I like hearing the sound more but I'm OCD about the rust on it lol.

Lawson xpipe. Quality is good, sounds just like any other xpipe. But if you just want to replace resonator with this xpipe, you will barely hear any difference. I think with the magnaflow is the same thing. Thats why i had to cut 2nd cats after xpipe installation.

Looks cleaner than marko's magnaflow...he says he doesn't like it much but he seems to have the best sound from x-pipe I've heard lol.

what does the 2nd cats do to the sound? I dont want it raspy, unrefined.

^THIS...and I just can't get over replacing a perfectly engineered part for something that adds no benefit. In my younger years, I would have jumped all over it though, but over time I've come to appreciate that it's harder to make something quiet than loud.

actually xpipe is what makes it raspy i believe. 2nd cats delete will make it a bit louder and deeper sound but what i like about 2nd cat delete is it gets louder and louder as rpm increases. Its not abnoxiusly loud like muffler delete and its not too quite. No drone also. And yea lawson looks better then magnaflow. Magnaflow is just a popular brand name that they charge for more. Ill post a viseo on youtube and post a link here
