Introduction

Hello everyone!

My name is Adrian and I just bought a 2010 Mercedes Benz C300 Sport 4Matic.

I'm excited to be on the forums!

Tbh I expected stuck up rich old 'folk' but actually I've been looking around for the past week and you guys seem like a really nice community

What I have noticed is that the forums seem a little more 'lacking' on the content end and there is more "repair/service" threads...no worries hopefully...

Anyway I have a plan to spruce up the forums but it'll take an active community...plus I just got here, I'll sit low for a while :P

Here's a pic of my ride the night I got it:

Welcome! I'm seeing more and more DIYs available now which is refreshing. For a while I wasn't sure if owners were ever going to DIY this platform like say, the BMW and Porsche crowds.

Here's our 2008, owned since new, 110k miles in the picture.

Enjoy!

Hey welcome! theres quite a few DIY's just ask and you'll be surprised what some of the older members have. Some times you'll find a DIY with all the pictures missing but someone else has it saved as a pdf file.

Hey guys! Nice looking cars! And thanks for the DIY information

As far as modifications I don't expect to do anything performance based...

If anything, lets just say I'm gonna use a LOT of plasti dip :P Lol.

Few mods I am considering [eventually] doing:

- One of those AMG spoilers...specific style, forgot name...
- Possibly AMG diffuser
- Quad Exhaust Tips
- Roof wrap, but likely to save money maybe dip the roof and gloss it just to see...
- Dip front bumper [black]
- Dip rims [black]
- Dip Calipers [Red]
- MAYBE dip grill but leave chrome...but unlikely

'The parents aren't much in favor of mods...lol, I'm rather young... :O

Over time maybe I'll do some and make a showcase...Idk if you guys do that here but that's what they do at kia forums...ex: http://www.optimaforums.com/forum/49...-showroom.html

If ext links are not permitted admin can edit this out or tell me and I will.

Congrats on the car. Did you get it privately or through a dealership? International Autos on Hwy 100?

The forums are full of repairs because this is where everyone comes if something is wrong with their C Class.

Keep up with the maintenance and you'll be good to go.

HAHA FIXED MY SIGNATURE!

Lol, thank you. I got it through a dealership, it wasn't an official Benz dealer. Got it near Saukville. Picked it up with ~55k miles, so its a really good car for me as Benz's hit the depreciation xD.

Are you from around here?

P.S. If you are, will you be going to Bender Park tomorrow for the car meet?

Looking forward to the mods you have listed. I'm an old car enthusiast myself. The cool thing, just picked up a 2012 C300 myself... still learning what can be done to these things.

So CVX, have you come across any problems yet with the Benz at your mileage? Most cars should be problem free for a long time but I am just curious as starting next year I'm gonna be doing a lot of miles on the car. A lot of my family in EU have German cars, and they tend to last quite a long time, but of course this is not the case for every car. Ex. I was looking at a 2013 Altima SL, with 45k miles, and it sounded like absolute s**t. That being said, not all Altima's are like that, but I'd just like to have a general idea of how the w204's hold up. Your car looks great btw

Good to see others from the Milwaukee area!

I bought my car at Reina International Auto on 128th & Capitol. They are a family owned dealer run by three Italian brothers. Have been going to them for years. Reasonable prices and honest service and they stand behind their work, if you are looking for a good indy shop. They sell a lot of late model used Mercedes there. They get them direct from Mercedes Financial I believe. They sell and service a lot of high end sports cars, especially Italian stuff. Always fun to see what is in there at any given time.

Thanks. Click on the signature entry to see what work I've done to it since we got it.

Long story short, with a $65 average monthly maintenance cost (everything except fuel) over the last 8 years I think it's been fantastic. My experience has been consistent with the reliability ratings for this model year on the True Delta website.

For comparison, my 2003 3-series is currently averaging $129 a month. That I bought used.

Compared to our other cars we've had that seems a bit too high actually...not to say that a Benz wouldn't cost more to maintain, but take our previous jeep for example (we haven't had the jeep in the signature for too long) and the Chrysler, other than oil changes and gas we have had literally no problems. I have no worries though, and I can tell that you've done a good job at maintaining your car. Thx for the reply!

Remember, the W204 has been around for many years now, so you won't see too many new mod or DIY posts. There are a ton out there, however. Just need to search on keywords that you're interested in. Long threads on wheel info, suspension, audio upgrades (stock speaker swap with Infinity Kappas are THE best bang-for-the-buck mod!), lighting, exhaust (X-pipe being most popular), etc.
I, personally, have been "done" (are we ever truly done?? ) with mods for a while now, hence why I don't frequent the forum as much as I used to. Just enjoying the drive.
Have 105K on the clock now and the only major issue was the dreaded ESL problem. Otherwise, simple maintenance has kept it running well.
Congrats on the car and welcome to MBW. Enjoy it!

Here's what my car mostly looks like today. Have different wheels now since I bent the OZs, which are no longer made.
