Can't find wiper blades for 2008 c220 sport!
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help. I have just bought a c220 CDi Sport & very pleased with it. However, the wipers need changing. I've been to Halfords, entered the reg plate & the wipers didn't fit. Also bought a pair online & they looked like they'd fit (matched reg as well) but didn't!
The guy at Halfords advised to go to the local Merc dealer as 'he'd never seen a set like that' so I thought I'd come on here first. They can't be unique (hopefully) so I'm assuming someone on here has seen em & knows where to get a set???
I've enclosed a pic of the fitting. The models I have had are too wide for the 'hook' and as you can see in the pic it goes into the arm fitting itself rather than around it.
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply - after a bit of in depth research & some luck...
1) a virtually identical car to mine (CDi 220 sport estate) 2008 was in same car park as me with same wipers, but owner not there to ask.
2) there are similar looking wipes online (in Mercedes branded packaging), but in USA & Malaysia, so not cheap at all to buy.
Any more ideas out there? Seems to either be a Merc wiper that got discontinued, or a massive coincidence of two cars with same modification.

That is the same fitting as my 2007 220CDI.They are definitely MB blades .
I also had trouble finding replacements in Australia other than gold plated ones at the dealer.
I bought old fashioned Trico blades with rubbers of the correct length & form & fitted the extracted rubbers to the MB blade holders.
The end caps on the MB holders can carefully be prised off for access. .
All done for 10 bucks .
What part of the world are you from?

Thanks Carsy, that's interesting.
I'm in the UK & have checked out a number of internet sites where you enter your reg & they claim to match your wipers to car, but matches, even though the sites do identify the car correctly. Bit odd this, as these wipes seem to have basically vanished from the market, which I could understand if I drove something obscure but odd with a MB.
So you bought a set of basic wipers of the same length, popped off the end of the MB & swapped the rubber wiper strip?

Make sure you buy the same form/profile to attach correctly.

I have a pair of Bosch AeroTwin Wipers AM600U in the garage that I had not used because the trim cover would not fit when the wiper was installed on the arm. They look reasonable without the cover & worked well but with a little fitting the cover will fit also.
Please see photos attached, I have enlarged the hole in the cover to 8.5 mm so the cover will now fit over the boss at the base of the attachment pin. I then slotted a hole in the cover so the retaining steel piece would sit down through the cover allowing the blade to sit on the window. The first one took a while but the second, 5 minutes .
All the best of British luck !!.

That's pretty cool & cheers for the message! Looks ok on the window. Will give that a go. What was the part number for the wipers?
