So I clearly want to retrofit Sirius in my benz, since it's just a great thing to have. Now before that I need to see if the car is prewired for it already or not.
Anyone know where the receiver would be installed if it was prewired?
I found an old thread for a 2010 benz and he said in front of the spare wheel under the plastic/behind the seats. Well there is clearly nothing there and can't be anything there since that's the bottom and it's all metal sheets with no wholes.

So that silver box is the XM receiver, and that bracket looked familiar. Got the part number and this is the best diagram I found. It doesn't kinda make sense though for the location really.

i don't think my car has that, which is disappointing. I'm still researching about adding Navi and the head unit. I've read a few things off the web it might be as easy as plug and play if its pre wired, the hard part is adding the antenna for the navi and programming it..... but some people say in the UK they sell pre programmed ones for your car if you send them your vin.
so for about $2000 you can get the full package, rather than paying $4000+ at the dealer.
The car is definitely not prewired for this.
You would need all the wiring, the programming, the module, the adapters, the brackets, and the covers.

I just confirmed this with mercedes benz corporate, as i was calling for the command upgrade BUT I GOT GREAT NEWS
the command upgrade is $2060+tax heres the break down below. man the price between dealerships is crazy! non corporate the cost was $3500+.
2060$ total cost plus tax
560$ Labour
1560$ Parts
4 hours labour
they will not install ebay parts, only bought from the dealership parts. when you look at it the command actually goes for about the same price online and once shipped this could be worth it.
I asked for a sirius radio retro fit he said there is no kit available.
Is that for the HK speakers, Sirius, navigation, camera and amp too?
I wish they said they can't do a Sirius radio retrofit, as there is no retrofit package for it. They also said they don't have an HK speaker package and if I want that I would have to do it at an experienced audio shop.(I feel like i should find a dealership which has experience in doing this, it might be cheeper)
It's honestly just for a Command upgrade to have Navigation. I'm wondering if its plug and play, I spoke to some people in the United Kingdom they said they can program the unit in their shop, and that will make the unit plug and play for $2000 shipped o the dealer isn't to far off with its price.
Does that include the larger 7 inch screen too? I think would require a new instrument cluster trim piece. That is what the screen mounts to. I had mine out to take care of a rattle.

Yes it includes the larger screen and the instrument cluster trim.
It's not bad from the prices I have seen. I would question the labor time but it still sounds like a good deal. And it saves you from having to screw with firmware/coding issues. Also, if they mess anything up they would be responsible. The dealer tore my car up fixing the navigation. I still don't have my trim all the way back on as they had to locate some junked parts for me.
What are they charging for the LCD screen? They are hard to come by but I've seen them in the $200 - $500+ range. Usually the cheaper ones have messed up AR coating. Most of the ebay listings seem to only include the HU or the HU and screen together.
I think I've seen the dash trim for about $150 - $170.
