HOLD brake stopped working
This morning on the way to work, I attempted to use the HOLD feature while at a stop light, like I do all of the time. No matter how I pumped the brake, let it roll, release it, nothing - I could not get it to kick on. Restarting the car did not help.
Never had an issue with it in 4 years of every day use. Has anyone seen this happen? I'm wondering if a battery cable pull will fix it, or what the root cause might be.

Sounds like the ESP can't read the brake light switch---however the start off assist(HOLD) is very complicated and not every Tom, Dock or Harry has the diagnostic software to confirm the fault. Find someone with factory diagnostics!!
PS
our seat belt was attached ---correct??

Agreed - sounds like you'll definitely need DAS. No other warnings then? Does the car still hold itself for a few seconds if you are on a hill and release the brake? That's the other part of the adaptive brake tech.

Ugh, damn. My seatbelt was on - the car never moves without it ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'll have to see if hill start assist is working or not the next time I pull it out of the garage.
