C250 Coupe Rear Ended..why me!
So this past Tuesday I was Rear Ended by a woman who was doing no less than 40 mph, while I was at a complete stop. Hit my head on the steering wheel, that left a really nice abrasion 😒. Concussion and back pain, but I'm here 😊. Head Rests released and one of the airbags in the back seat deployed for sure. I will never forget that horrible smell. The other drivers vehicle looked way worse. I have a bad feeling there might be damage to the frame. The sides of my car looks like it had ripples (dents) going towards the front.
Needless to say I'm currently waiting on the outcome of what going to happen with my car. I've only had her 1yr and 10 months 😢. Does anyone have an idea of what it might cost to fix her? Thanks in advance.

If she was doing 40+ mph, your rear end would be completely destroyed, not just crunched up a bit.
Repair costs are always a crap shoot until you get into things and see how far the damage goes.

On the police report she was given a ticket and it listed she was doing 40 mph. :/ SN: Half of her front end was completely crumbled, I wish I had a photo.

.....being rear-ended always seems grim.
At a California toll booth no less ............. I got out and asked "How did that happen?"
Would you believe the answer was (no kidding) "I was countin' my change".............
That car was rear-ended a total of three time during my circa 4-year ownership.
Ergo, I feel your pain.
I sure like the C250.........

2012 Mercedes C250
My '12 C250 sedan was rear-ended just about a month after I bought the car last year. The other driver was a Honda dealership tech test driving a customer's car (which apparently involved tailgating me very closely at 35), which was pretty wiped out in the front. Their insurance picked up all the damages to mine and put me in a rental for the weeks mine was in the shop. I believe the total repair bill (less damage than the OP's) was about $6000.

Update
So the adjuster went and looked at the vehicle, the adjuster attempted to try and open my trunk and it would not budge even with her applying pressure 😕 My current damages are a little over 8K and Mercedes has not had a chance to take the car apart and see what else they will find 🙃.
I got a copy of the vehicle crash report and she was cited for doing 40 mph. She was given a ticket for following too closely as well as texting.
I will update again when I get more information.

Mercedes are incredibly safe cars. Even with the other car doing 40mph, the rear of your C250 crumpled as it should in the collision. I'm glad you weren't driving a '73 Ford Pinto

People way over-estimate impact speeds and police don't seem to pay much attention either. I have seen people have marks on bumpers and say "they were doing 55 and never slowed down". It's crazy.

I would guess the citation is for speed just prior to collision estimated given skid marks and damage. There must have been some braking. A full on 40 MPH would have been worse even with the other car absorbing most of the impact.
Even a 5 MPH hit feels bad.

ouuuff... I really hope it didnt reach the sub/k/uni/whateveryouwanttocalltheframepart frame...
If so it's going to be a lot more than 8K... Frame pullers are not cheap and what people consider "finished" doesn't always leave the same tolerances in the body panel gaps that we would like to see... If your frame is damaged badly I would hope for a new C250!
Thats just based on my experience..
I beat up my front end 2 years ago when I hit a porcupine and it cost me $14,000 CAD and our dollar was pretty good at this point.. It's a lot busier up there in front though...

holy **** a porcupine caused 14K in damage!! I would of hunted for his family and decorated the cottage taxidermy style. I believe it though a friend of my hit a racoon and his car was totalled.
off topic but 8k seems about right when dealing with a Mercedes, hope theres no hidden issues or it could jump in price quickly.
