Mercedes C-Class 2010 Illumenated Star Installation
Today I purchased a OEM/Genuine Illuminated star for my 2010 C300 4Matic Sport... The item says that it will fit my year and model. Not sure weather instructions are included or not, but does anyone have or no any instructions for installing a C300 2008-2012?
It was 1k to buy from dealer and install, so idk how it will be sep.

I'm scheduled for the 4th October for installation.
I had the intentions to have my mechanic install it (I know him personally, so personally when I roll my car into his parking lot instantly takes my car in no paper work lol), but I saw what he would have to do, I don't want to put him through that exspecially these Mercedes parts are expensive AF so I don't want him breaking the fuse box (example) and be at 2k loss(or what ever the cost is)...
So I rather let Mercedes do it and if they f*ck up, its there f*ck up
I haven't done it, eventually I will do it, but it is wired to the DRLs, so when the main lights are on then the light will be on.
I asked Mercedes won't splice the wires. It doesn't ruin the integrity of the cable.
If you do that splice the DRLs wires you risk something going wrong and if you need to re-wire/re-fish a wire you'll be spending a lot more then if mercedes did it for you.
I bought the Wire harnesses, fuse, cables, Star for 390$ he said only be worse case is 349$ install
I'm also going to my local Mercedes (that will be installing it) to check and verify the parts make sure they are in fact genuine. I bought them from Amazon so they should be ok.
Went to Mercedes parts division today the guy check the parts for my installation for the 4th. Turned out the Wiring harness and Electrical Cable was incompatible with my vehicle said something about that kit that I bought will be only for a "Temporary Lighting" asked him what it would cost if I returned Both wires and the star and bought both wires and star from them, he said $480.
Then I told him what I payed which was $390 and I actually negotiated a part price at Mercedes , I got it down to $389 for all the parts together.
So I'm returning that whole kit and my Mercedes locally will be purchasing and installing a illuminated star (Which probably better cause I have a year of warranty on the parts now.
Rtarson, I'm not trying to sound arrogant or annoy you, I hope I'm not coming off that way. But my point is, if you do it yourself, you can save a LOT of money. And, you don't have to splice wires, and you definitely don't need to break anything. It's just personal choice, I just wanted to tell you so you would know.

I just like to get it done right, plus if it stops working or water (other weathering) effects the illuminated star at least it will come out of someone else pocket.... I just feel more at ease when pros do it.
I do programming you don't hire a lumberjack to code your website you would hire me, so basically saying leave this with someone that knows what they are doing.
