Mercedes side door mirror smashed
I've been having a rough week. Last week, I was the victim of a hit and run where somebody mangled my bumper - and just drove off leaving no note, witnesses, or surveillance footage. Fast foward a week later (yesterday), some mother****er broke into my car with a rock, the size of a bowling ball - but a little smaller. My seat is scratched up on the passenger side, and the mesh/nylon netting that covers the speaker on the passenger side door is ripped. Not sure what to call that, but I'm looking to have it replaced if possible. How should I go with repairing some of the scruff marks on my car seat?
On another note, how easy is it shatter the side door window? I am watching videos of how people people shatter glass with hard objects, and it doesn't seem like the person threw the rock through my window. It seems like it would require repeated strikes in order to shatter an entire window.

It is easy to shatter a window with a rock. I had it happen with one of my cars with it parked in my drive. You should be able to get your insurance to cover your damage. File a police report. Your seat cover can be repaired or replaced as well as the speaker cover and if necessary inside door panel.

Yes, I have glass insurance thank god. I also filed a report as well. This had happened to one of the more recent models of yours? I watched a video on youtube of some idiot trying to break into what I believe to be a c300. He threw a brick at the window, and it reflected off the window and back into his face. That made me come to the conclusion that the glass is somewhat force resistant.

It did not happen with one of my Mercedes. Happened with one of my VWs. Only thing that kept the window together was the extra tint. I think any window can be broken with the right size object with enough force.

It is true that you can smash a side window, but it is not easy. The video you're referring to is a W212 E-class where a guy throws a brick at the window and it ricocheted off and hit him in the face. You're more likely to easily shatter it with a pointed object applying a lot of force to a small area. A large rock will be tricky.
