Anyway lets get right into it, I've noticed that the passenger side headlight (second picture) has a gap compared to the driver side headlight (first picture). I thought it was a minor issue and all it needed was a slight adjustment to get it fit properly. So I took it into a local dealership where they opened the hood/bonnet of the car and slammed it as hard as possible. After that, they informed me that the assembly is loose and recommended me to go see a body shop to get it fixed. This was strange, to me at least, that they had recommended a third party shop that specializes in collision repair to get this fixed. The car is still under warranty so I'm a bit confused a why they recommended me to visit a body shop and not another dealership, would this not be covered under warranty?

I would flip if someone did that to my car.. as just mentioned there should be rubber adjustment stops kinda where the fender is where the side of the hood rests in the frontish section. It's like a screw and you just turn it so it lowers. As it lowers the hood will rest lower and you should do a little at a time. That should be all you need to do.

Very simple to fix. Dealer should have shop that they use or their own shop to fix it for you. did you buy your car new or used? Has it had any body work?
The car was bought new back in early 2014 as a 2013 model year, no body work has been done to it since. I believe that the headlight became like this a few months ago. The issue really didn't bother me until a friend of mine pointed it out.
Yeah was surprised that they had not fixed it on the spot, maybe that particular day was not the best time to bring it in to get it checked.
