RIM Options for C300

I currently have BMW stock 17 inch rim on my new (to me) 2013 C300 4 Dr Sedan 4Matic Sport. Want to upgrade to 18 inch rims for my summer tires.

Is that OK? If yes, what wheels sizes are OK?

thanks!

Up to 20s are fine, 8.5 front and 9.5 rear max offset mid 40s.

I get the first part about up to 20 inches. Can you explain the 8.5-9.5 and offset?

Thanks... newbie here. :-)

Usually wheel sizes are listed like 19x8.5 +45, 19 is the wheel diameter, 8.5 is the wheel width, and +45 is the offset of the wheel. Read up on what wheel offset is it's important when it comes to the right fitment.

I'm looking at tires & rims on 1010tires.com. The site suggests rim based on year, make, model, etc....

The rim I want shows a 72.6 Hub Bore but I think the spec for calls for 66.5. Will this rim not work on my car?

Thanks!

If what you want to use is not on spec then it doesn't work...? The rims you want have a larger hole and would sit loose on the car's hub.
