How do you access the lamps in the rear license plate of a C250 estate?

You have to remove the trunk liner trim and come at the light bulbs from the "inside" of the trunk and access the lights from behind the assembly.
It is very easy to do.

pop push pins on the liner and remove the screws from the plastic latch cover. I believe there's a DIY already posted on the w204 subforum here.
