DIY attempt for a brake pressure bleeder under $50
Hey guys, well. I'm hoping that I can contribute something to the forum finally. Successfully making a cheap pressure bleeder has been an on and off quest for me since being a tech for BMW. Doing it without one takes forever and is a real pain so I always borrowed it from another guy that had one since I was flat rate. I hate borrowing things to even this day. This was my third attempt, and I believe I finally did it!
It's incredibly simple and quite easy with just a few simple parts that shouldn't cost more then 50 bucks and takes about 1/2hr+- of your time. Here are the parts;
Roundup Multi Purpose Sprayer w/ pressure release valve (2Gal)
Master cylinder adapter
Some engine line vacuum 3/8" I believe
a few clamps 5/8"
I have to disassemble it some though to show you guys exactly how it was modified which I'll do tonight. And I still have to test it in real application but I did pressure test it to see if it leaked and nothing was so it seems very promising. If there's someone on here in the Westchester ny area and don't mind seeing if it works I'd be happy to meet if I don't already test it on my car. You provide the fluid though ..
I know it's not pretty, but it's the first go at it trying it this way. and it's better then spending 3x as much or even more to have the dealer do it..
Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted the DIY yet. We had a family emergency and yeasterday and now my little daughter is in our family 🙂! I'll try to get to it as soon as I can but there are more important things going on now.
Well done , will save you heaps over your lifetime.
See whether you can incorporate a simple pressure guage to give you some idea as there is a recommended pressure of 2 bar ie 30psi. I use 20psi or less which works OK.
Make sure you bleed in the correct sequence.ie longest line first & shortest last.
