C250 Fuel problem
#52
sranjesuper, you wouldn't happen to have the part number of the vacuum hose and valve under the intake that you replaced would you? Or maybe a picture showing it? Over the last month or so, I started hearing an engine rattle on startup. It only lasts 2-3 seconds, but has progressively gotten worse to the point where I hear it every time I start up the engine now. The oil does have a stronger fuel smell to it then I recall. Wondering if I have your same issue.

Part number
Can someone please post the part number of this elusive HPFP? I’ve had this issue for years, and have just discovered this thread. Interestingly enough, when the car was under warranty, I took it in for this very issue. They did some ecu “flash” and sent me on my way. Needless to say it never worked, but it may be a window for me to get the dealer to help me with this issue.

So here is a long overdue update to my HPFP issue that my local dealership fixed under warranty and I'll post the parts list they replaced.
Since the fix about 3 months ago, my car fuel efficiency has gone up about 5-6 mpg city+highway combined driving. The throttle is more responsive even in Eco mode.
I'm very glad that my issue was found and repaired while the car was still under the warranty as it would've been a costly repair.
Here are the parts list as stated on the repair invoice. (part # : description)
271-070-37-01-80 : High-pressure pump core w/ charge
004-997-20-90 : Hose clamp
271-096-02-80 : Gasket
271-096-01-80 : Gasket
Hope this info helps

Hey Jorge, did this fix your issue?
I am about to order a Re-manufactured High Pressure Pump (271-070-37-01-80) from MBpartshq.com along with the other 3 components.
If anyone has had bad experiences with remanufactured hpfp's please let me know so I can avoid making the same mistake. Otherwise I will be purchasing and installing myself asap.

I recently had my engine replaced cause of a broken timing chain and now have the P0002 code. I replaced the high pressure fuel pump but still get the same code. I just ordered the fuel rail pressure sensor and I'm hoping. that will do the trick. anyone have a similar issue?

The Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor sets DTC P0190, 0191, 0192, or 0193.
I cleared the code and the CEL went off. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
