Do you want to stay halogen or go to a HID?

I don't think there is any room for improvement staying halogen. I plan to go to something like a depo projector headlight assembly and xenon bulbs.

I would like to stay halogen and try and go as bright and white as possible before considering a hid upgrade.

If you want to stay with halogens, the whitest halogen bulbs on the market are Philips Diamond Visions. However, for them to achieve that level of whiteness, they sacrifice a fair amount of lumen (brightness). If you drive in the city or do mostly daytime driving, you might be ok, but really the better solution is to run an HID kit. We carry top end Morimoto HID conversion kits that are easy plug and play if interested

Will installing this kit void my factory warranty? I understand that they will not work on my aftermarket lights, but I'm guessing it should have NO affect on anything else.

Not usually, unless an aftermarket upgrade could be proved to have caused the problem.

I see theretrofitsource advertise the following: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/al...ect_restrict=1

Are these the same kit that you use?

We carry all Morimoto products, so yes. Were you looking for a projector retrofit with HID conversion or just keeping it simple with an HID conversion?

Sure, proper xenon projectors will always be better with proper focal point and sharper cutoffs. Just comes down to what level of difficulty installing you want to tackle. Either way, we can cover you and ship to SA.

"sharper cut offs" i like that one! also known as, completely black above cut off line so you cant see ****. like street signs or anything above the cut off.

park a factory HID vehicle next to an aftermarket retrofitted one and you will see the difference. there is some light scattered above the cut off for visibility and safety.

these aftermarket kits where it is pitch dark above the cut off are a little ridiculous.

also, in my experience, Morimoto is complete Chinese garbage. (speaking from my own experience, have used their products before.)

soon after the awesome cut off thread, comes the "why are my headlights fogging up", "how come are one of my head lights are out" thread.

OP... i would stick to factory spec, try a different halogen bulb where they will typically sacrifice bulb longevity for performance. before you open this can of worms and get sold up the river.

So level of cutoff is personal preference and you can get different projectors to either have a soft or sharp cutoff. Personally, I do like the softer "rainbow" fade cutoff, but it's a preference. As far as Morimoto, I disagree that they are crap. They for sure are not the best (I'd argue MTEC is), but brings the best blend of engineering, quality, component, reliability, and price point.

And just because it's assembled in China doesn't mean it's crap....
comes down to QC. Your recommendation of going with OEM bulb (OSRAM/Sylvania).... manufacturing plants in Penang, Malaysia and Wuxi, China. And Osram/Sylvania is not crap by any means.

Anyways, sorry you had a bad experience with Morimoto, but I do agree with you on an incremental step... I had recommended Philips Diamond Visions as the whitest halogen bulbs out there, but they suffer from reduced lumens. Crystal vision would be a better compromise as they have street legal brightness, but will only be slightly whiter than stock if you value aesthetics more. Many are happy with just an HID conversion kit with their stock halogen projectors, but focal point being the arguably big/small negative. You can always retrofit a projector afterwards if that doesn't meet your desires.
