it depends, if its 4matic is a PITA, and will take several hours. if its 2wd its not a complex job and can prob be done in less than 2-3 hours.

What were the signs that made you have them changed? At what mileage?

Well in the end the indy and I settled on 6hrs plus parts. 4 matics are much more complex at the front end.

I know it actually took him near 8hrs. Final bill - $1200. (about $900 US) plus tax.

Well worth it though. It transformed the car. No shake at idle, no shaking on full lock, motor even starts more smoothly.

Bit disappointed at doing this at only 75000 km, but I swear the engine has never been this smooth, so maybe defective mounts from new

Cheers

Did you get the parts from MB or aftermarket?

I don't think it should cost too much if you go to an indy and buy parts online.

For a 4Matic with 90K+ I paid $450 in labor to have new engine mounts, transmission mounts, and all four shocks and struts, plus strut mounts, replaced. I brought my own parts in that I bought super cheap online. Everything was OE. The total parts and labor came to just under $2000, including a wheel alignment.

You don't need to go to a dealer or euro specialist for this car. The above at a dealer supplying the parts and labor would've cost at least $6000 or more...

The Indy I use always buys MB parts.

OEM parts would have been about $150 - $200 cheaper. Not really worth the savings to get secondary market parts, which may or may not perform as well, after all that labour cost

that was a great price! my indy shop charges 105/hr and doesn't allow u to bring your own parts.
What state are you in?

I'm getting the same type of vibration at speeds over 70 miles and at stops. My car is at 86k miles so most likely I will need to look into this soon. My B service is due in about 800 miles which won't take long in my case. I may get the quote from the dealer on parts and see how I can fare online.
