2008 c300 Transmission Hesitation

Do 4matic w204s hesitated on take off ? I was told by dealers it is normal and by a mercedes specialist that its the pressure building up.. Ever since I have my 2008 c300 4matic, it had a hesitation on take off, usually shifting from 2nd to 3rd, the rpms would drop and the car hesitated for half a second and then goes, sometimes dropping 200rpms.

Sometimes it wont do it, their's a way to press the throttle on take offf and also if im talking off gently it wont do it, only on heavier throttle it will hesitate/buck.

Last year I replaced the transfer case bearings and I had the transmission out so I took the chance and also replaced the torque converter, it looked pretty rusty and had over 180k on it, it definitely felt a difference and made transmission smoother but the hesitation remained. Never any codes.. Does your 4matic c300 do this ?

@ 0:17 I take of and you can see it hesitates, almost everytime i take off hard, the revs start going up then drops around 200 and then decides to go, you can see it in the video.

Mine doesn’t. The only hesitation is the programmed hesitation for comfort (to keep you from jerking people’s heads when you press the throttle).

I've got a 2011 C350, and coming from an Audi, this has been a big sore point for me. Even in S mode, you get a slight hesitation starting off. Reverse is worse - easy to step on the gas, hesitate, then lurch backward.

Yeh that's what I thought, I came from a 600whp stang with cable throttle and instant torque lol, I forgot to mention I also installed a sprint booster on my c300 which fixes 95% of the lag issue but that 5% is why I'm posting this thread..

Hmmm, sprint booster... need to look into that. In a perfect world, you'd think there would be some software tweaks that would fix this issue. Wonder if it varies from car to car...

There is a way to use software to eliminate most, if not all, of the hesitation and transmission lag, but it is quite the arduous endeavor.

Please carefully read this thread regarding the topic: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...tle-delay.html

Good luck!

The best idea would be to find a savvy local Benz shop that has all this and have them do it. I'd much rather do this with someone who knows the specific equipment.

Try a TCU reset. Maybe your car needs a transmission software update also.

I've done TCU resets a few times in the over 2 years I've had the car. Nominal at best. Need to look into the software update.
