W204 LED Tail Lights not working

Hi I just bought a year 2012 W204 and I found that it has LED tail lights. I realized that the right side LED lights are working (up and down) but on the left side, only the upper LED lights are working but the bottom one isn't. I tried to see if I can change or replace these bulbs but after reading many of the post about LED here, it seems I can't.

I have no error messages etc. Everything is fine. Only the bottom LED on the left rear tail lights isn't working. Any advice?

Thanks,
Khong

After checking, actually the LED lights are fine but the bottom left seems a dimmer than others. What's the reason?

disconnect the electrical connector on both tail lamps from the main body harness.. check the ground (brown) wires at the connector and see if they are burned or corroded. You are right that those bulbs are not serviceable, so if something was wrong or damaged with the LED section, you will need to replace the whole tail lamp assembly; If you have the tools and knowledge, you can take out the units and swap them side to side and see if they still do the same thing on the other side since they plugs are the same.

Thanks, I will check the brown (ground) wires to see if they are corroded if so I will add a grounding on that.

As for swapping the lamps side to side, are we trying to test the connectors to see if they are faulty?

Hello, I have the same problem. I also tried to use a ground wire, like they did on the older models when they had issue but no luck. Did your get it solved? If your can let me know what your did is appreciate! This is driving me nuts!

Has anyone resoved that? I have the exact same problem. I checked the ground wire (brown) and looks like new! No burnt areas or damage.. Sometimes when I hit the tail light from outsite with fist gently, the led light becomes bright until the next minor movement...

2012 W204 C200 facelift
I have this exact same problem on my facelift W204. Having done extensive research on i cannot find the solution. It looks like faulty LEDs in the unit. I am fed with people telling to check the brown wire - totally separate issue. There is a video on Youtube from a guy with E class with LEd tail lights., he cut a little hole on back of the unit and re-soldered the LED joints and it fixed the problem.
