92k mile MPG performance report.
So I surprised myself driving to work this morning. Normally it takes me 1.5 hours to travel 40 miles each way, but with the holiday schedule, traffic has been light and I was able to make it in 45 minutes. To my surprise, because I didn't have to deal with my daily stop-and-go driving for the past couple of days, I noticed my AVG MPG is doing great this tank. The pictures below were taken on my ride back home to validate the figures I seen earlier this morning.
32+ MPG this trip. Photo taken while waiting at a light.
Average MPG so far after 1/2 a tank.
After 5.5 years of ownership, 92k miles on the odometer.
Based on my Fuelly records, if I keep this up, I may be able to beat my personal best from 2014...although TBH I've stopped recording after 70 fillups.
Date: 4/17/14
Total miles on tank: 441.50
Gallons: 15.623
Tank MPG: 28.26
$/Gallon: 4.279
FYI, I am currently a tuned M276, riding on Michelin Pilot Super Sports and the pictures above were taken after normal driving (aka: I was not trying to fix a result by means of hypermiling). So just curious, how's everyone else's W204 doing...MPG wise?

How do you honestly do this? I could reset mine while on the highway and focus on it for the next 10miles by being as gently as possible and it still won't go over 23sh MPG? Plus you have a C350 which should consume more. Does my car have some issue and is running inefficiently?

I've had my 2014 C300 Sport since June and my overall MPG is at 27.4. I use it mostly for highway miles and am usually at or only a couple of MPH above the speed limit. I'm happy with that as it gets better MPG than my 2007 C230 Sport did.

I tried to remember my previous post about my 2011 C300 mpg:
From my home to UC Davis is about 115 miles one way. I and two other passengers and fully loaded trunk, drive a little conservatively, no faster than 75 mph and keep constant speed as much as practically possible. By doing that, I hit 31 mpg couple of times. A few times I hit 29-30 mpg with occasionally passing 80 mph. If I am in a hurry, 27-28 mpg is common. I'd say it is 2% city 98% highway including a long stretched bridge.
My reported mpg is just for each single trip.

Just because I'm a little OCD, here are pictures of my commute back to work this morning so I can document the trip going both directions. I figure someone will eventually make the argument that the destination may be a different elevation from the starting point (which it is) affecting mileage.
Note the miles, time driven, and MPG are roughly the same as yesterday's commute home.
Note the AVG mpg and added time driven from yesterday's photo.

Looking at your sig, I'm going to guess the differences between us is...
...19" wheels. While I do have aftermarket wheels too (wider 18x8.5+45 & 18x9.5+45) I made sure they were equal if not slightly less than the weight of the stocks that they replaced.
...4-Matic drivetrain. This is why I always suggest 2WD unless you specifically live in a climate that will see snow.
...and stock engine tune? Part of the benefits of a tuned engine is not just an increase of HP/Tq, but also an increase in MPG *IF* driven in a regular fashion. Of course the downside is you no longer have the option to use lower octane gas (in case of an emergency), but if you never plan on doing so, then this is a wash.
...I also work @ sea level.
Now if you want to game it, my best advice is to...
...inflate your tires to the recommended high load (which is +3 PSI of the normal load), keep all the windows closed, turn off any accessories like the AC, and make sure nothing is in the trunk.
...cruise at the slowest speed that you can at the highest possible gear...which in my car is 45mph on 7th.
Then once your cruising, reset your trip meter again. This should give you your theoretical max HWY MPG figure (assuming you are on level ground), then record for 10 miles.

My little C250 - a CPO - has logged circa 10,500 miles since purchase. Fuelly calcs show a 28.3 average...............with an all time best of 34.4 during a round-trip to Scottsdale, AZ.
The car is ab-so-lutely pinpoint stock. I'm one o those who will not screw with perfection. I was very surprised to find a used car - with an automatic transmission no less - that impressed me like this.
Some high roller paid big bread for this Iridium/Ash gem. I offer a drink - with the $$$$ I saved - of single malt to him/her.........that's probably the drink of choice for most high rollers.
Season's best to all
