2014 C300 4 matic V6
I am new to the Mercedes scene and was wondering if the C300 was a good choice for a used car. The one I am looking at is a 2014 C300 4matic with the V6 engine and has 40,000 miles on it. I am looking for a reliable daily driver that does not leak or have a bunch of problems any information would be nice.

Unfortunately forum's are more about problems. No one post if nothing is wrong. I got mine ( same model ) 3 months ago. I love it. I did get a cpo plus 2 more years for peace of mind, but so far I could not be happier. The engine really kicks ***. The last 2 years with the 3.5. Lots of great features. Really to many for me. I like the styling, rides great. No regrets from me.

I have just purchased 2014 C350 about 2 months ago, great car, great power, I have the 18" wheels and still think rear tires are a little loose, cant handle all the power, may go to 19" AMG wheels.
Im 5'10" and it fits okay, I have a few mates that are 6'2" and they are a "little scrunched" especially in rear seats. Overall great value used cars

here in Canada is 699 canadian dollars and 2700 for 2 years full warranty for 2 years so 2000 more if i want to get eh full warranty what should i do ?? only CPO or full warranty
my first benz and first german car so i heard they are expensive if something go wrong i guess the 2000 extra worth ??

Everyone's comfort level is different, but for a car that new with that few miles, I would think it is highly unlikely you would spend $2000 on repairs in two years. Maybe just put the $2K aside and draw from that if you need anything repaired during that time. Up to you.

mine only had 13k. I paid $1850 for extension. I may never use it, but worth it to me. Worry free driving. One repair can eat up 2k easily

Yeah that why im wondering i never bought it from any used car but someone told me only 1 problem could eat your 2k easily .. so now im thinking about getting it lol was wondering what people think about it

Yes, that scenario is POSSIBLE, but probably not likely. Another way to look at it is even if you did have a situation that would cost you $2K, what is the likelyhood that you would have more than one of those in two years? Yes, it is a calculated risk, especially if you do not know anything about the history of the car. It is what you value your piece of mind. I don't know that there is anything inherently that breaks in a short period of time in these cars or that there are a ton of little things that constantly go wrong. Yes, you can find individual cars that could be like that, but as a model, I don't think that is the case with the model you are looking at.
Another thing to check out is just what the warranty covers and what it does not. They are not all created equal.

There's a reason why those guys selling used cars sell the insurance and it's not to make sure you don't have to spend money on repairing them, it's because they're a huge profit maker for the dealer. They cover things that fail, not things that need service, so no fluid changes, no brakes, nothing that breaks because you broke it, it has to be a manufacturer's defect. So when I bought mine two weeks ago, I didn't buy the high pressure sale. If you're buying a low mileage car that's got a service history to begin with, you're 80% not likely to use the insurance. When you do, you then have examples of having to pay the deductible and they dictate how much labor a job calls for, so if you mechanic says5 hours and they say only 3, you pay for the additional labor.

If you want to spend money well spent, take whatever car you're looking at to an independent mechanic for a pre purchase inspection, if you're not comfortable evaluating the car yourself.

I love this car! I purchased the same car back in June of last year & since this was my first Mercedes, I purchased the 2 year warranty @ a cost of $2500. I did my research before purchasing, but it gave me piece of mind, just in case something catastrophic happened. I looked at it just like our “most expensive car insurance in America!) I will be hopefully picking up a 2014 C300 AWD Sport with about 48,000 miles. I was considering getting the most expensive warranty just to be safe, but after reading this I might do the lower warranty or not do any at all. What are your guys thoughts? What are some common problems or work that needs to be done on the 2014? I tried to Google common problems but could only find the issue with the brakes squeaking.
edit: I should add that it has 2 owners and a clear CarFax history but one thing that was concerning was that before it was offered for sale at my local dealer, the front seat back and cover replaced.
