Yes, AC Delco doesn't make terrible parts, and I'm sure they are MILES and MILES ahead of cheap Chinese knockoffs, that said, I do drive my car hard, and I think everyone can agree that OEM parts are better in quality than AC Delco parts. Will 99% of us ever notice, of course not. If you drive the W204 like a sane human being (I do not), then I'm sure AC Delco crap is good enough. That said, I never EVER cheap out on brakes, because I could just find myself doing 150km/hr and needing to stop to 0, when it's -30 or 40'C out where 2 feet could mean life or death. The thought of a rotor cracking on me under such an extreme environment scares me, so I'll stick with OEM.
This is also one reason why I don't use ceramic pads. I had a "my anus touched cloth" event when it was -30'C once and I slammed on the brakes...and nothing happened for a solid 3-4 seconds. Scared the poop out of me. I didn't crap for days.
You are doing 150km/hr(93MPH) and concerned about 2 feet being the difference between life and death in extreme cold. I have to ask, if you are that concerned about life and death situations why not drive at more responsible speeds? That would have a far bigger effect on how quick you can stop than less expensive rotors and pads. I'm just sayin'.......Originally Posted by superangrypenguin

I live life on the margin. In all seriousness, I doubt ANYONE would be fine with slamming on the brakes and having 3-4 seconds where nothing happens. Try it sometime, I dare you :pOriginally Posted by Alfadude

150km/hr means 42 meters/second. 3 seconds is more than 120 meters. If you live life +/- 120 meters, good for you, but here in Ontario where people tailgate others doing 140km/hr in many cases, and it's normal. 120 meters is life/death.

Yea up in Canada they either stick up your bum or drive like ducks, even though they have big highways in Toronto.
Weird.

As a penguin, I take offense to your duck comment (lawl, long day).Originally Posted by Adi-Benz

And no, not really. The main thing here in Ontario is Highway 407, the most expensive toll road in N. America. At certain sections, it can span 16 lanes (8 lanes each way), and the far left lane is (almost) always free, and if there is traffic, it averages 140km/hr. Waze is also very very heavily used here, so cops can't really get anyone who speeds and uses that app, let alone having other countermeasures in place

But yes, even on Highway 401 which was meant for traffic from the 1960s, if it's not jammed pack, it's common to have people traveling at 140km/hr with about 4-6 feet between each car. How people don't die here more frequently is beyond my comprehension, but I can tell you I absolutely hate driving in the US, ALL over the US. Holy sh**, move your land yacht out of the way. At least here in Canada, if someone's riding your azz, you know to move out of the way.
