Buying a 2012 Mercedes 300C 4matic need help
Hello All,
New to the MBWorld. I am looking to buy a 2012 Mercedes 300C 4matic for 10600 miles. The first and only owner was a old lady and she is selling because she has gotten her self a new Mercedes. I have been doing some research on the w204 and it seems the model year 2012 has the least problems reported. Other than recall and car fax and test drive the car, can anyone point shine some light on what I should be looking out for when I go test drive tomorrow?
Thanks

Nope, nothing out of the ordinary. Any pulling during braking, any weird noises driving over bumps, any vibrations in the steering/wheel car at highway speeds, etc? Does it have a full service history? Was it serviced at the dealer? Probably most importantly, were the oil changes done on time using MB approved (229.5 oil)?
This is one of the most reliable MBs ever made. You're making a good choice as long as nothing is out of the ordinary and if the vehicle has been maintained well.

2012 C300 Sport 4MATIC (current) 2006 C280 Elegance 4MATIC (sold)
They're good.
Nothing major to report with these 2012s. This is the last year the M272 V6 and older 7GTRONIC transmission was used so they would be at their most reliable in the production cycle. Just press every button and make sure everything works. My 2012 has 96,000kms (or around 60,000 miles) and is tight as a drum. All that has been done to the car is regular maintenance (oil, filter and air/cabin filter), brake pads/rotors all around and the secondary air pump was a tad noisy so I decided to change it (easy job and tons of videos on YouTube). Just for fun though try a 2013/2014 C300 with the newer M276. I drove one and enjoyed the extra power it had to offer but too many of the 2013s that were available when I was looking for a new car were really basic and not loaded up hence why I sprung for a loaded up 2012 instead.

I'm going to probably need my second secondary air pump in 2 years, its not expensive and an easy DIY. make sure no one sits in the passenger seat when u test drive and see if that **** rattles, the head rest gets rattles over time. also drive over a bumpy road see if the front end clunks around usually past 100,000KM something in the suspension will need to be done. (end links ect.)
other than thats its a sold car overall and I'm very happy with my MB experience.

Is it confirmed that 2012 C300s did not come with 7G?
Start-stop/Eco button.
Love my 12 c300 4matic sports
4 years so far with it .

Where does she live? If she bought a new MB why did she not trade in a very low mileage vehicle? If in Texas or other places, look for flood damage under the carpets. You should be able to get a service report from her dealer. Look for a repeated problem in the record. Most old ladies (my wife included) like there C's and don't want to be bothered learning all the crap that is on a new one. MB's usually don't rust out and the good looks stays current for a very long time so why did she really sell it?

I was pretty unfocused when I typed my previous post. In each time I wrote 7-G, I was meaning 7-G Plus. Can I bother you with a new reply accordingly?
