Just search for RHD if you need that :-) All of the units no matter name comes from China anyway.

No, they are resellers & if any brand-name on they units they just buy them with their name on ;-)

All units come from China & prob same factory over there that produce them too.

there are a few sellers of these, 2g and 4g, units. I first saw this from "flexx alexander" on his youtube channel, he does a good job of showing the install. he promotes a reseller, but like anything else, coming from china, these are just importers most likely.

Having read through this entire thread and a few others, can I ask the following to the brains trust.

I have a unit bought from Aliexpress seller 'Mekede'.
Installed the unit in my '08 C63 with factory COMAND and Nav etc, and first up they advise connecting the LVDS power line to the main loom red 'ACC OUT' line. Now in every video i've seen, they all connect the red LVDS box to the yellow '12V' line, so not sure if it needs ACC trigger, or 12V constant?
This is what they are telling me it should be:

Secondly, when I unlock and get in the car, press the ignition button, the radio/disc will start playing, but the Android screen stays black. Now if I turn off the Comand 'ON' button, and then turn it back on again, then screen boots up, with the time always at 12:00. Should it power on with the Comand via the ignition every time?
I used to get the factory Comand screen showing up on the unit intermittently. Sometimes the left half of the 'trip computer' Android screen would be black, and sometimes the factory interface would show up in the correct display resolution. There was no pattern to when it would work and when it wouldn't. Sometimes unplugged the two Android screen plugs would reset the unit for it to work, other times it made no difference.

Lastly, now when I get in and start the car, the screen is black no matter what I do, unplugging the two white plugs will reboot it and fire it up from scratch again.

Could it be the AB/B harness config? I'm not sure if intermittent factory interface display could be to do with that, I would have thought it would have either worked, or not at all?
I have the bus cables connected as per below NTG4:

Any help appreciated guys, as i've spent more hours than I can count, removed the unit and rechecked the plugs an connections countless times and the aftersales support from Mekede is terrible. They keep asking me repeatedly to connect the ACC out line to the lvds box, even thought i've told them i've done it 5 times and even sent pictures. Then the last advice was to update the firmware, sent me a zip file, and that's it. After reading through here I should have bought from Carlife Mall.

Dino, I don't own one of these yet, so can't really help you, other than to check out the youtube video from Flexx Alexander, who goes through the full install on his car. I'm assuming these are all the same Chinese units from different sellers.

Hi bud,

Yes I have watched Raymond and Flexx's videos and have follow the install. The fact it can work intermittently tells me the connections must be right? Perhaps there is a fault in LVDS converter, or unit itself.

Hey @PASHN8 ,

I recently picked up one of these units and installed it in my 2013 GLK350. Works like a charm. the A/B connector for me ... without it connected into the right channel (A or B) the comand dial would not interface with the unit, I.e. turn the dial and push the button nothing would happen. Plugged it into the other channel and then full interaction with the display using the COMAND dial.

For the display to show the factory interface, you need to set the parameters correctly in the settings menu within the Android. Depending on what option your Audio/Aux are mine worked out to be 1 & 8. You have other options to set such as with or without AUX interface in the factory radio etc. I'm assuming you have followed all of those instructions and have gotten past that. You also need to set the correct setting for the display, otherwise it won't display anything and will go black. (This to me sounds like where you need to double check the settings) Its around the display type and resolution for the factory display.

Somewhere I have a pdf of my manual that I converted from chinese characters to english so I could figure out the installation. Can't find it right now though.

Thanks for your help mate.

I guess the confusing thing is that when it works, it works perfectly, comand wheel works, bluetooth streaming works, radio screen shows up, all of it, so it is connected correctly, but there is something somewhere that isn't liking it.

Is it normal for the clock on the android screen to be 12:00 every time you start the unit?
And should the unit turn on when you start the car/press the ignition?

Yes the clock is usual, it gets the time from the GPS when that is connected.

It should also come on with the ignition if wired in correctly.

Ok, and thanks.

When I turn on the ignition the factory radio comes on, but the screen does not. If I press the radio power button once to turn it off, and then press the 'ON' button on the radio again to turn it on, THEN the screen boots up. Almost like it's not sensing ignition/ACC signal?
Apart from the LVDS box, there really is no wiring to do? Quadlock intercept, swap over the fibre optic wires, and it should just work.

Ready to throw this screen on ebay at this rate!

Audio is mono

Hey guys! I have the unit for some time now, but as a sound tech guy, there is a big thing that bugs me. I have the audio from the unit on mono. Both left and right sources spread to all speakers. Anyone has the same issue? How to solve that? Is that a screen config or a car config? maybe a bad connection? I know i mannaged to work the sound without the aux cable provided. I just set the car unit on aux and i have sound from the screen. But if i check the balance on the options, left and right are the same! All sound goes to all speakers, and thats really anoying. It's not a proper stereo. Pls help

my unit has the same issue, I measured the continuity of the aux jack with a multi-meter and the last and right channel are connected together, probably a bad soldering job in the factory. I have never corrected it though

Although I dont have the issue you describe at all, I have heard that this could be the problem... and yes, it can also cause interference with older cars as per the vid.

The unit I have plugs into the 3.5mm aux in jack in the centre console to inject audio into the factory system.

You shouldn't need one. Its usually a symptom of the cable passing something generating interference. I had this when initially test fitting, re-routing the cable removed the interference.

There was a software update that fixed the Bluetooth coming from just that one speaker. Just get in-touch with your seller and they will hook you up!

Hi everyone.

1.I can confirm that the Sim card slot works on North American LTE bands. It is very fast. You do not need to use your phone's hot spot. Just add a data line to your existing account from your carrier.
The slot is for micro cards. Just use a nano to micro adapter.( Circuit side of the sim card must face towards the screen. It will slide in and out with a spring.

2.Usb Aux noise issue is solved by the isolator completely.

3.Auto Usb switching must be enabled by the oem unit input activation.

All I need now is the file for the AMG start up logo. I have the higher resolution 12.5 inch unit. If anyone can email me the those files ,I would appreciate it.
