Sports Brake Upgrade ok?

Hey folks! GF had a 2008 C300 4matic, and we just got a newer 2012.

I had a question with regard to brakes. Her 2008 had the sports Brake package of drilled rotors and the "Mercedes Benz" black and white caliper cover.

The 2012 (has every upgrade that is wonderful) has just regular rotors and calipers however and they need to be replaced badly. Is this a direct swap/bolt-on? (Pic attached is what I want to upgrade to)

I'm normally a Land Rover guy so obviously I love doing my own maintenance.

Happy to be here, thanks everyone!

Do you got 2012 "C300 4matic" or non-4matic..?

While you & GF sharing the same C300 4matics, then brakes should be interchangeable,

but you will have to swap Front calipers & Rotors together,

cause here sport 4matic Front drilled Rotors are (322x32), while your plain Rotors are (295x28),,

yours & her Rear Rotors are the same which are (300x10)..

Ok so they are bolt-on and no issues. Nice! Thanks!

The plan was to source the rotors and calipers for the sports package and just upgrade the front for now on the 2012 so this def fits my plan.

I did research the Brembo or AMG upgrade...and I'm def interested in it but the stock sports package option fits my plan perfectly.

Thank you very much!

Sure, it should bolt-on,

cause all W204 2007-2013 (4-matics) uses the same knuckles & hubs,,

why not go with C63 brakes..

You mean like this?

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/547082-c63-brake-upgrade-c300-detailed-experience-review.html

They're not exactly bolt on due to the spacer needed and whatnot correct? Not trying to be difficult but the gent in the article also switch wheels and whatnot.

Plus, that is like a $1500+ mod I am not that interested in since in a few years we'll be getting the glc coupe. Money can go towards beer

Confused

So I called pelican parts and they said based off the vin's that 2008 front calipers are NOT compatible for the 2012...this correct?

Is there something I'm missing? Did any 2012+ brake calipers come with that black "Mercedes Benz" plate on them? Or was that just on the 2008-2011odels that have the drilled rotors?

My 2012 does NOT have drilled rotors stock apparently, thanks!

Weird, my 2012 has the drilled rotors and the black covers on the calipers. I just had one of the calipers replaced under warranty and the new one had the black cover as well. When I go to FCP and punch in my car, only drilled rotors come up. Maybe it's a regional thing?

The rear rotors are plain and (I believe) lack the plate on the calipers.

^+1^,,

How NOT compatible..!?!,

W204 (4matic's) from 08-12 sharing Exactly the same knuckle..!,,

tell them to forward to you the knuckle part # for 08 & 12,(C300 4matic),,

if there 're not the same, then i have to believe them about compatibility..?!?!

Gaaagh

Thanks Atraudes. Yeah this is confusing. If anyone knows first hand that these bad boys (fronts) can just be swapped (as in proper rotor with proper caliper as a set) that would extremely helpful.

Both are sports 4matics...I don't see what the issue is. Looks like I'll just buy the ones I want and see if they fit. Maybe sets me back an hour for the fronts.

As far the rears yeah I know that the rotors are plain as well as the caliper. The reasoning behind all this quick questioning is that there's a scraping noise that I wanted to just do an upgrade all at once and be done with it.

I'll call fcp tomorrow, they closed...ugh

Hold on

Proper for C250-C350

E class version...unless I'm grossly mistaken????
So wait a minute. Is the caliper that has the torx heads on either side for the E class? Bc that's a significant misunderstanding.

FCP just confirmed I can swap to sports rotors and calipers...they rock.
