New battery time, what one to go with?
My battery is 7 years old and Its time for a new one. Should I go OEM not sure of the cost but I'm sure it pricy.
just curious on what others have done, Canadian tire, Costco, Walmart all have comparable batteries.
Let me know what you guys have done!
Thanks

I had to replace mine last year and did a lot of research. Bottom line. The OE Mercedes seem to be the best. I had one that lasted 10 years, but the one I replaced(OE) lasted only 3 years. Ended up buying the AGM from NAPA because the dealer is 100 miles away.

OE Merc batteries last an incredible amount of time, and thus the payoff usually makes sense, especially if one is replacing said battery through a mechanic due to labor costs.
My neighbor's battery has lasted about 3 years and he bought his from...IIRC, Costco, and mine lasted close to 2x that! (OEM)

I called interstate battery's local dealer and they had blemish battery, which is new with warranty but scratches etc, for $45.00. I called dealer and it was like $225.00.
I could get almost 5 interstate batteries for $225.00 with that price. So, I bought one.
So far no issue but it's been only few months.

Some time back the local (Rocklin, CA) MB dealership service manager gave me his card with the toll-free MB emergency number. Called. No delay Cost $211 - at my home. Took 30 minutes, reset the computer. Neat, clean tech with Sprinter to match. He released functions that I did not know were there.

I purchased mine online from Amazon for around $180. As long as it's a 800 CCA AGM 94R battery you'll be fine. You can also get one of these for good measure...
...if your battery still measures above 600 CCA, I'd keep it. It's also good practice to at least test the battery & brake fluid every service interval.

hey op, when i replaced the battery in our clk550 i noticed the cable was in bad shape too. i bought the cable, but ended up trading the car in before installing it. i think it would make a nice complement to your battery.
