Secondary Air Pump and Air Injection Pump Check Valve

0021408460 Secondary Air Pump Check Valve
Hi guys, I have a quick question about replacing my secondary air pump and a part I bought from Fcp euro called a secondary air injection pump check valve.

I know the air pump is a beaten to death horse on the threads from the searching I’ve done but I can’t find anything about replacing the check valve I bought. In most of the videos I’ve watched where they replace a check valve, it looks different (two silver cannister looking parts). On Fcp Euro, when I went to buy the air pump it also recommended changing this part 0021408460 as well as the relay. I’ve included a picture of it in the attachment. I’ve also seen it referred to on Amazon as a vacuum check valve. I haven’t started the repair yet so maybe it’ll be a glaringly obvious part connecting a valve somewhere but I was hoping someone might know what this part is exactly and where it goes.

Thanks a lot for any feedback.

Good to know. Do you know if it plugs into the air pump or the exhaust manifold somewhere?

If you have a C300 and you are having air pump issues, I would not worry too much about that guy (0021408460). You are likely barking up the wrong tree.

Why does FCP recommend replacing it with the vacuum pump? Is it known to go bad?

I looked for it under the hood but couldn't find where to swap the new one in. Does anyone have a picture of where to find it? I'm sure it'll be a facepalm when I see it.

I’m not quite sure why it’s recommended on their site. It looks like the previous post from Kyle at FCP indicates it’s not necesarially a recommmended replacement with the air pump and relay.

Here’s what it showed on their website though 🤷*♂️

Something like this can only happen at FCP Euro... A certain recommendation for a needed part is made on their website only to then end up having their sales department say it isn't needed.
