Question Driver's Seat Cover Or Cushion Replacement Help

I'm looking to replace the front seat cover but don't have the necessary info.

Looking into the split seam, I can't tell if that's the actual stuffing of the seat or a layer of the cover.

Some stuffing has been lost (yes, I've put this off for too long)

Q. Based on photo, is the cover going to suffice or do I need a whole bottom seat?

Thanks for your input.

Wow... that's bad....
It's easier to replace whole bottom than only replacing cover.
Try to source passenger side seat bottom from ebay that is in good condition. It's interchangeable.

Agree I changed my seat cover it's not to bad but the ***** is unplugging the heated seat cables I had to cut and splice/sodder them back together.

Buy the bottom unit you don't have to worry about the 25 clips being clipped back in and all the bull**** lol for not much more money. Just worry about the cable. This way it's a 10 minute job instead of a 30plus min job

The most inexpensive price for just cover is $250 shipped. Went to a shop and they wanted $200 to replace the cover.

If I buy the whole bottom seat, hopefully it's not much more. Waiting for parts.com to let me know the item number and price. Thx

I did mine. It was easy, just a bunch of small steel rods hold it all together. No clips. It took me about an hour.

You really dug your bum on that seat. Another thing that I was told by an upholstery guy is when we are sitting down on the seats try not to slam your body weight on the seat as sometimes when the seat is cold the mbtext becomes weak on the seams and rips when a sudden pressure is applied.

Old on the right
So I bought a seat cover from an OEM. Gave them my VIN and also picked this item using my year/model, 2013 GLK 350 4matic, black

Ya that defiantly isn't right, it might work but I'd return it and find the correct cover

It's not the right part number. If it was, it would match. You're not getting accurate information.

Go to https://www.parts.com/

Send them a request. They'll get the part number right.

Incorrect New Cover

Original Cover
Looking at the tags on the covers there is a difference. Wrong part. Hopefully get this figured out.

Mercedes part numbers are a disaster ... the people I deal with will not sell anything without the car's VIN to ensure the right item.

Ends up the correct part# is 204-910-79-46-9D88 according to my VIN. Weird since the description from the MB Parts lookup is: Driver seat, without leather, black. Sedan, with c63, without leather without seat heater, black.

The original place I ordered from is going to send me a new one. Luckily I put my VIN in the order. Definitely put your VIN in any order for Mercedes Parts!

Mine also ripped at the same seam. Got the cover and will be installing it soon. I purchased mine at https://www.mercedesbenzstarparts.com which is the online store for my local MB dealer in San Jose CA. I put my vin in and the cover I got exactly matches my original.

Are Driver and Front Passenger parts the same?

Does anyone know if the driver and front passenger, lower seat covers are identical and have the same part number?

I can't find a part number for the front passenger seat cover without it being part of a complete assembly which drives the price up over $900

For my 2014 GLK 350 Base model, no leather, no heat, beige, the drivers lower seat cover is part number 204-910-79-46-64-8P26 and goes for $231.15

Are Plastics Clamps Replaceable?

These clamps break fairly easily. The dealership broke one side and did not tell me when they replaced the seat.

See pics.

Q. Are these clamps replaceable or do you need a whole lower frame?

I don't see that they're broken. One side goes inside the hole and the other end screws down to the other end. Unless you are talking about something else?

I'm probably not understanding how all of this goes together.

I thought the pic below had a protruding piece that inserted to stabilize?

Nothing is broken there from what I recall how that piece looks. But see my pic below how to attach the bracket.

Looking to replace the lower seat cover using the option with mercedesbenzstarparts.com. However shocked by a shipping charge of $44. I purchased exterior body trim pieces from them last fall and shipping was $10. Anyone else recall such a high shipping charge on their seat cover? - edit played with the cart as I had included a small expansion nut for the rear spoiler and the $2 nut was causing a spike of $30 in shipping... Yikes... Seat cover by itself is $14 shipping charge. I can live with that. Guess I'll save $30 and source the expansion nut from the local dealership lol!

Wow crazy lol. Luckily that store is only 15 min drive for me so i can just pick up anytime. But $14 shipping is not bad for sear cover. Wonder if adding the screws causes them to use a different box hiking the shipping.
