hey how you guys doing, i being having issues with my car not starting not cranking. i notice all the lights work, the radios turns on, all windows go down and up, the light in the trunk works, hazard lights works. the warnings in the speedometer is giving me is cruise control inoperative, SRS malfunction, check engine light on ABS light is on. no physical damage to the vehicle at all, nothing on the steering wheel works the horn, cruise control, wipers, turn signal there no small box in the speedometer that is selected between P R N D. the local mechanic was able to get the car to turn on at random by by disconnecting the battery and letting the computer reset he mention the front module might be overheating he suggested to toll it to the dealer which i did they did their first 3 hours inspection and told me the wiring harness have water damage they mention a 8 thousand dollar to fix the issue they toll me to call my insurance to have someone go inspect the vehicle with them from my insurance.
The questions would be is that normal price for the repair of a wiring harness, can any mechanic do this if i purchase the harness myself as well if anyone had this symptoms and figure out a different outcome to fix it this. and would it has to be reprogram any computer part. It seems they cant get the car to turn on but the local mechanic can i told them what he said to do but they don't go with anyone else diagnostic.

This sounds like ESL/EIS failure to me.

i had ESL/EIS replace a year ago, also talk to my local mechanic again and he was not able to have a code reader communicate with the computer/module of the car

Check your starter. Have you ever changed it? See if you have power at both terminals when the key is in the ON position. Also check fuses 6,7,19, & 27.

no i wasn't able to check the starter and no i have never change it, the fuses were check and none were blown the car gets power, everything else works except the electrical part on the steering wheel such as wipers turn signals horn., i find it a little crazy they trying to charge me the worth of the car in repair for a wiring harness and replacement. they quoted me 20 grand in repairs which is crazy
