So my wife bought me the OEM illuminated star for $430 from Boca FL MB dealer over Amazon.
I did the "twist" to remove my OEM star and SNAP...3 out of 6 tabs gone, but oh well, replacing it anyway right?
New one doesn't remotely fit. Contacted dealer who assured her it was the right one. He now says it's not, but he THINKS he has the right parts. Tells me it's $100 more and to return the one they sent.
So I ask for an RMA and will be sending it back.
Now I'm go swimming through ebay, where 20 sellers say "Fits 2014 w205"...What?!
Finally I find one that says "Fits 2014 w204 c300 - all"
So I bought that one, and guess what, it doesn't fit either!
I contacted the seller who says "one style snaps in, one twists in, which do you have"?
ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
Anybody know the deal hear? I saw a couple people have done this, but wonder if it's done right or glued in...I'm not going to be using glue.
I can get the old emblem back in...just sucks that it has some play in it now that a few tabs broke removing it...but it definitely twisted from 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock coming out. Then again perhaps that's why it broke. So frustrating for what should be a simple mod. I've spent less time swapping out radiators on my classic!

I had watched that one...went back to see it again and read the comments. Basically just confirms "who knows?". That guy isn't using the stock grille or emblem to start with and he modifies it to fit as well anyway.
So, the illuminated star that I got was the cheap $50 ones. I compared it to the OEM ones on another benz and I couldn't tell a difference in brightness or quality to be honest. Even at night, the illumination is about the same. For mines, I fitted it on an aftermarket grill that looks similar to the CLA diamond grill. All I did was popped out the emblem that came on that grill and replaced it with the illuminated star, which clipped right in, perfect fitment. No gluing or anything needed. I don't have the OEM grill anymore, but from what I can tell, it should just clipped in, you shouldn't have to glue anything.
Is this your 2009 C300? It's bad *** looking! Where did you get those white led headlights? not just the bulbs, but the entire head light? I'm looking for one just like those with the low beam bulb being between 6000k-8000k.
Not sure if you're talking to me or not, but if you're talking about the red car, then yes, it's mines. The headlights I got from a seller named fishcakes something on ebay. Just search for Depo W204 headlights and you should find it. As for the headlight bulbs, I just purchased some CANBUS ready white LED bulbs. Before that, I had some CANBUS 6000K HID kit. The HIDs were much brighter and I definitely preferred over the LED headlight bulbs. The LED ones doesn't have a far reaching beam compared to HIDs.
Yes, I was asking you ROMEO and thank you. So you purchased the headlights and then switched out the low beam bulb for the white light bulb? I'm asking this because I used to have a 2007 C230 sport and when I switched out bulbs on my rear lights, they burned out in like 3 months. I don't want that happening with my headlights.
SO I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO INSTALLING THE LIGHT UP STAR / ILLUMINATED STAR
DIRECT FITMENT NO PLAY NO MODS, JUST REMOVE OLD STAR AND LINE THIS ONE UP AND PUSH IT IN AND YOUR DONE
YOU ONLY HAVE TO PRY FROM THE LOWER CLIPS WHERE THE STAR EMBLEM POINTS MEET...THEN YOU JUST LIFT IT OUT FROM UNDER, THE TOP CLIPISMORE OF A HOLDER YOU DO NOT PRY FROM THE TOP ONLY THE LOWER CLIPS
YOU CAN HAVE IT CONNECTED TO A SWITCH OR SIMPLY RUNA FUSE TAP INTO FUSE 37 AND IT WILL COME ON WITH YOUR IGNITION
