Mercedes Benz C280 2008
****Help needded***** SRS malfuntion

Hi Everyone.

I have an issue with my car a Mercedes C280 2008 gasoline (the European version of c300), some days ago I received a message about (SRS malfunction visit workshop and the airbag light on), the car was not involved in any accident and the car started as usual.

Comment.
1-I checked all Fuses.
2-I interchanged the same type relays within the SAM
3-I checked Sam connection to de harness, all cables seems to be ok.
4-All systems seem to be working fine (expects SRS module N2/10).
5-I was not able to access the SRS module by using a X431 launch.
6-I have good current (12.7v) in all fuses within front and rear SAM’s.
7-I was not able to see, reach or scan the module with a Xentry/Das scanner and not able to access the module seems to be off or not installed, all other modules are working fine. 8-I checked the connections under the seats (everything seems to be ok). 9-The seatbelt light and warnings are not working.

Please let me know if any suggestion.

You don't know what you are doing any DAS\Xentry scanner with 2008 and newer MY software can interrogate the SRS

Use DAS to run a short test.DAS will tell you why it can't access a specific module----what does it say---post a screen shot!

Check the wiring harnesses under both your front seats for wiring corrosion. I have an SRS error because of corrosion and the seat belt sensor is messed up because of it.

I had this exact problem in a different model. An OBD Scanner won't clear the code, my pal is a mechanic and plugged in laptop. Before he did that I pushed all connections etc in and made sure nothing was loose. After clearing this code on laptop it has never come back since

You have a bad connector to the drivers side airbag. The connector is connected directly to the airbag and contains a squib that generates a charge to set off the airbag. If the squib does not receive the correct voltage, it will not fire the airbag during a collision.
The SRS message will not go away until the fault is resolved. There may be two connectors connected to the airbag (2 different part numbers). Star Diagnostics will tell which connector is bad.
