C220 BluEff speed limited to 100mph??
I was wondering if anyone is able to assist with my issue here. I have a 2011 C220 BlueEfficiency Elegance CDI with 120k mileage. Recently had a Service B 3 months ago. Apart from a few issues which were resolved around fuel injectors leaking, it is a lovely drive. My first Mercedes and I'm very happy with it!
However, I notice the top speed is limited to circa 100mph (159km/h). The rev limiter does not bounce, the car jus smoothly gets too 100mph and then there is nothing more to give.
Has anyone experienced this before, or are aware of the issue? If anyone has any potential resolutions, or can point me towards a person, company or forum thread which can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
The cruise control has a second function called “speedtronic”
With this you could set a maximum speed.
One activates the speedtronic by pushing in the cruise control stalk.
There is a tiny “lamp” in the cruise control stalk.
If this is “on” you’re in the “speedtronic mode”.
More detailed info could be found in the owners manual.
Or google search for “Mercedes Speedtronic”.
Good luck and enjoy your Benz. They are fabulous cars.

Many thanks for your reply. I never knew about the Speedtronic feature, I have tried it and it is certainly a nice feature!
Unfortunately, with or without the Speedtronic activated (lamp being on or off), the car does not seem to want to push over 100mph. I have read an alternative thread which mentions a supercharger pump but as my vehicle is only a C220 CDI BlueEff I am quite sure it does not have one (I'm no car expert though!).
Do you have any other suggestions as to what this could possibly be? The car does feel fine, and there are no strange sounds or alarming rattling present.
Again, thanks in advance.

I’d recommend for you to check this issue with a good workshop.
Wish you good luck!
Would appreciate if you could keep us updated once there is a solution.
I have found the winter tyre setting on the dashboard, which was set to 'Off'. I changed it to 130mph as a test, but unfortunately no luck. The car just does not want tor rev over 2800(ish) RPM, and just sticks at approximately 100mph. I appreciate the suggestion though!
I would like to maybe call a Mercedes UK call centre, or take it to a Mercedes specialist, but I'm worried about how to present the issue to either of them without hearing "You shouldnt be going that fast anyway!" Is there any way around this perhaps?
Thanks again!

Very frustrating!

A few months ago one of the injectors started leaking, which would drip fuel out the bottom of the car when parked. The MPG dropped massively too. This was changed, no more leak and the MPG started hitting the high-30s again (half city, half motorway journeys).
Could the rev limit issue be related to this?
All help is appreciated, so thank you very much
