Real World Amount of Tranny Fluid?
I have a 2010 C300 with ~95k and this is the second transmission service Ive done. I didnt write it down but I know I didnt get 9L in it the first time and I only got 8.5L out of it this time(5.1L TC, 3.1L trans) and it only took 7.5L back in. 10L in and then bled off 2.5L at ~113F.
Car was dead cold when I drained it. I had the car in N when I did my initial 10L fill and then I shifted from P to D and back again. Shut it off because the fluid got too hot. Waited for it to cool off (about 2 hours) and then started it. Left it P, heated to 113F and 2.5L came out until trickle.
Is this normal?
Am I too low? Am I going to screw something up?
I followed the WIS EXACTLY.
Speaking of which. Does anyone think it makes a difference if the rear wheels are spinning during the initial fill which requires the tranny in N while idling? I had all 4 wheels off the ground so the rear wheels were turning during fill. I have WIS and there is no mention of this. Only that the vehicle has to be in N for fill then P for the bleed off.
