2011 C250 4Matic (C300) M272 Runs rough and sputters at speed
2011 C250 4Matic (Canada only, same engine as the C300)
Symptoms
Runs rough and sputters at 1600-2200 rpms, even worse up a hill.
Seems to run fine when cold, first few min.
Runs smooth while idling
Not throwing any codes or pending codes.
Replaced all the plugs, 4 Camshaft Adjusters, air filters and the intake manifold actuator (was broken)
Thinking maybe I should replace the Coils and the Fuel filter… Grasping at straws here…

I can’t imagine a fuel filter being that clogged at only 180k.

I've used a standard OBD2 reader as well as Toadscan, both show no codes.
I put in mid grade fuel 89 octane.
Never changed the fuel filter, don't mind as they're only $50 or so.
Thanks again for all the help guys.
What grade fuel does the gas cap say to use? If it’s 91 or higher, and you put in 89, that could definitely be your problem, especially if it gets worse under load.
Even though mine is designed to allow for e85 fuel, it still says 91 octane for normal gas.
Drive gently until you you get the 89 stuff out of the system.
