White smoke at startup 2013 C250

During much research on this issue, I’ve changed the banjo bolt. Smoke still comes out on startup. Coolant levels are good. No bubbling either. Oil level is good, although under the oil cap I’ve seen some white liquid. I’m about to conduct and oil change this week. The car is not driven a lot. I only drive it about 10 mins total a day on average. To and from work which is right down the street. If I drive it further than that it’s only city driving for maybe a total of 30 mins as I don’t need to go far for what I need. Since all liquid levels are good and I don’t see any signs of leakage on the outside, I’m thinking it could be an internal problem? Any ideas??? Thanks in advance. P.S I’m definitely a car noob.

Cold weather? Then it's perfectly fine.

Where do you live? If it is in a col area if you drive it on;y 5 minutes each way it is not long enough for the car to warm up completely. Might be just moisture in teh exhaust. Does the smoke dissapate quickly or does it linger? Does it smell like oil? If it goes away quickly and doesn't smell it is probably just condensation and perfectly normal. Do you still have the issue if you drive it 15-20 minutes at a time?

I live in Northern California so around this time it gets down to anywhere from 30’s to 40’s at night then warms up during the day. Smoke only comes out at start up. It’s pretty thick right at startup then the smoke gets thin and dissipates pretty quickly. As the car is being driven it doesn’t smoke at all, then when I come to a stop the smoke starts to come out again. Once I’ve driven it for awhile, no smoke comes out. Not too sure of the smell. Sometimes it smells like oil. Sometimes it smells sweet. I could be totally off since I don’t know much about cars. As I said. All levels are good and I don’t see any visible leaks. Car runs good. So maybe it’s normal but I’ve never experienced white thickish cloud come out at startup before. It’s always been on the lighter side. I took videos this morning but am having some difficulty uploading them at the moment.

If it is a light white smoke with no odor that disappears pretty much right after it leaves the exhaust it is fine. Maybe if you post a video of the condition it would be easier to tell if that would be cause for concern.

Is the car otherwise driving well with no issues and no check engine light?

You uploaded a 3 second video of your steering wheel, so whatever you did, it got posted.

That does not look like normal condensation. That looks like oil smoke as it kind of has a slight blueish tint to it and hangs around in the air a bit. The only other thing would be coolant How is the car running? I would have that checked out.

As I said I’ve the same white smoke in first start in morning. Also I’ve oil leak
My garagist will try to find the source of oil leak tomorrow
I changed oil cooler 2 times since I own this car. C250cdi 2010. Because of lot of oil in coolant and check coolant in dash. And each time it began by oil leak
I suspect oil cooler seals or oil cooler

car runs good, no alerts on the dash. Coolant levels are good. Oil levels are good. That white smoke only comes out after the car has sat in the garage all night. Once the car is warmed up no white smoke comes out at start up. Trying to go through everything before taking her to the stealership.

Aiden744 I am having the same issues with my 2013 C250 sport being in the garage at night. It is thankfully under extended warranty and at the dealership for evaluation. They have had it 1 week and have not called me back yet. I will update once I hear back from them.

a week and they still haven’t figured it out... that’s interesting! Please do keep me updated though! Much appreciated. Love the car. Don’t want it going to waste.

No update yet, the dealership is busy and haven't provided an update yet. Will let you know, but I am enjoying the new C Class they loaned me.

Hope it is different for you than me. They diagnosed the smoke being caused by a leak in the turbo charger, over $4100 to fix, luckily I have an extended warranty.

Hope you have a better result.
