Hi,
sadly this occurred today:

Vehicle has ~70k on it, all services done, well maintained and driven like a granny. Issue occurred suddenly. No prior transmission issues or indications of tranny issues.

We dont know what it is...
Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like a stone in a caliper.....
Jack up each wheel and rotate it.

Thank you. We dont think so since we couldnt see anything. But car is so low you cant see well. Ended up towing it to our mechanic who will lift it to diagnose.

We are hoping its not tranny or transfer case :/

You sure nothing is stuck in the wheel like a twig or a piece of debris from the road?

Yes.
we found out the intermediate drive shaft has just snapped. Apparently a common failure in 4matics...still waiting to find out if transfer case and diffs are impacted.
kind of disappointing tbh for this brand....:/

Maybe less than half a block to pull over on a side street...lucky it didnt happen on the highway!

Perhaps remove the other half shaft and make it a RWD C300 as God intended!
