Wiper Blades For 2009 C350 — Not Bosch

I just got off the phone with the parts specialist from Bosch USA.

He says Bosch does not make wiper blades for my car. He verified using my VIN.

Imagine my surprise.

He said to use Valeo. So I found Valeo 574491 wipers (VM391)

Is Valeo the same as The Genuine Mercedes?

Quite a big price difference between the two.

I thought the closest ones to oem were Bosch, I'd do a Google search through this forum. Might have been Bosch twin aero or something.

I bought some and they worked, but the dealer gave me free wipers a week later and I didn't need em so I returned them lol.

The Bosch rep says they will fit but does not recommend it unless you change the wiper arms.

I use the Bosch Aerotwin A 938 S on my w204 and they worke perfectly.

I have the box in front of me now and it says is compatible with the w204 from 12.08 to 04.13 chasis number F 287191 and above.

Maybe your 09 was manufactured before 12.08? Is that possible or does the guy from Bosch USA not know what he's talking about.

this is interesting, as I had recently called FCP euro and spoke to a rep. I mentioned to him I wished they sold wiper blades for our car and he told me they do! Bosch and one other brand but he said they sell a ton of the Bosch’s. Even though they show nothing on the website on wipers they sell for the w204 which is weird 🤔.

It definitely fit perfectly. The attaching bracket was smoother on oem though.

1. Here's the sticker from inside the door.

So this is wild. I go online and VINDECODERZ says 12.08.08 for Manufacture date.

https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check...GF56X39R049870

2. I went online to Bosch and used the VIN. Nothing came up as compatible. So I called.

All of this came about because I've had major noise even with new blades.

So I thought...Hey maybe I put the wrong ones on?

Pelican Parts says "Take note of the dot hidden in the silkscreen area of the lower windshield (red arrow). The wipers must be aligned within an inch of this dot (yellow lines) when in the off position."

I'm about to paint the wiper arms since they faded...

Thanks for all your input.

You car is outside the range listed on the box that I have since it was made in August 2008 (08/08) while the range on the box starts with December 2008 (12/08). There must have been a change in the arms and blades in December 2008 and hence why your car is not in the Bosch's range.

You are correct. Mercedes have changed the blades several times from 2008 to 2015.

Check this thread (Post 10) as it has all the best info I could find on wiper blades, along with part numbers for cross reference.

1. That thread is awesome!

Many Thanks. I cross referenced it on https://www.mboemparts.com and it's accurate.

I almost bought the wrong blades.

2. So my car is an 2008 but with 2009 Features. Crazy.

UPDATE: Solved

So I went to the dealer and the parts manger verified it.

He says most places online get the wipers wrong.

Correct Part Number: 2048202100
Bosch Part Number: A 053 S — AeroTwin

Got them from RM European for $34.04 shipped.

Sound: Almost Whisper Quiet.

And here's the real kicker. It's on the Bosch site now.

Very Happy to have this over with!

Thanks for your input.
