Oil Dipstick W204 - 156-010-17-72

Big sigh on this one.
My dipstick recently broke and I have been on the hunt for a new one.
Ive called dealerships all over and got the same story about it being discontinued.
Called ecs tuning and they are on back order with no date.
Checked pelican parts and same thing nothing available.
Ebay has gone blank and I've checked the couple of junkyards I have available near me and none of them have a dipstick compatible with my motor.
There is one shop I saw on our forums here that had a Mercedes store that had it in stock but their Paypal feature to checkout is broken.

Now I ask y'all. I need one of these and I cannot find it.
Any help would be appreciated and if you have an extra just give me a price.

Thank you !

This place is a joke.
I bought one last month for my ML63. The part # supercedes to a different style that locks onto the tube. Did you check for a newer part number?

Yes Sir.
First off thank you for responding it is greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, the above posted part number is the updated one since i originally had the dipstick with the thin finger handle and the new one is much much thicker.

Try these older part numbers:
156 010 14 72
156 010 12 72
156 010 09 72
156 010 08 72

I also checked and my ML63 is different (156 010 21 72)

Honestly, I feel like I may have gotten lucky with this one but lets see what happens and I will definitely keep everyone updated.
Thank you again for the help.

Good luck!
I've confirmed with the dealer, the dipstick is permanently discontinued, and there is no more stock left in U.S. or Germany. Mercedes is no longer interested in supporting old models. This started several years back with SL (230) parts.

This is behaviour expected from EU which influenced the whole scene. In future how parts are handled is going to become a sore point.
Unpratical people in power sitting behind desks has no clue to the value of parts when its needed, its seen as an additional cost and the tred is nobody should want to keep parts..

Sounds like some sort sick of joke, I am still buying new parts for my 1987 BMW M3 and 1996 Toyota no worries there with my Mercedes I seem to pay way more for similar item wiper blades are prime example. Now sounds like the items required for general servicing are no longer being produced.

Did you try this site.
Look up any parts and it will show who got it with their ph and ask for specific part if you don't see it in the drop down lists.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I don't think they will take a dipstick out of a motor for me and the Engine Oil Dipstick or even Dipstick is not an option in their part collection.
Last place I called similar to this tried to sell me the whole motor LOL

Regardless my fingers are crossed and I hope it works out lol
