Ignition coil
Hi
C300 2008. VIN:WDDGF54X08F048646
The ignition coils burnt out frequently and randomly I mean it is not for specific one cylinder. The technician said that the ECU is defect.
I bought used ECU ( A2721533779) but he said it is not for this model (Original ECU No A2721500079).
My inquiry:
1- Do you think he is right that the ECU is defect.?If not what can make ignition coils burn out?
2-Could we fix this ECU ( A2721533779) in this car?

Here are the part numbers that will go to your car. Of course, in order to work with your car, it needs to be virginized. Once in virgin state you can program and code to your car.

No, the ECU should not be frying the coils. Check all your powertrain grounding, and make sure there is no oil leaking around your coils from the valve cover gaskets. What spark plugs are you using and at what gap setting? Excessive gap or high resistance across the plugs (more than spec) can shorten coil life drastically.

I looked for wiring diagram and ECU pinout . but unfortunately nothing found.

Are you using aftermarket coils? When did this start happening, when you replaced a part? When it comes to electrical or ignition I always stick with OEM. Your coils could not be making complete contact with the plugs. It could be multiple things.

No starts suddenly misfiring.. replaced ignition coil ... burn out another one
