2006 C-Class Coupe
Oh well. I love my coupe...but MB has lost a future customer because everything else(save the SLK) is big, expensive, and has an autotransmission. BMW, Audi, Inifinity maybe next time. Hell, even Saturn is looking like its got game now, with the 300HPAura and SKY.
I talked to a dealer about this, and here's what I was able to glean...
The sedans (highlighting 4matic) will probably be introduced first at an early 06 auto show (Detroit?), then the coupes and wagons at later events (Geneva and NY maybe?). There is likely to be a shift from the current kompressor trend...to turbos...as it's less expensive to build and maintain with recent technology advances. Also, we might see a return to the diesel in the C to these (US) shores.
my view:
It's confusing that MB would stop importing the coupe....since there's never been a surplus supply. While it's true that it's a low profit product, and they have to be price point competitive with a big market segment, they still sell every one of them.
hmm...

It is supprising to see how many people, young and old like my car. They are really supprised when they discover it doesnt' cost 50 or 60K. MB just needs to advertise it. I've never seen a single add for the C Coupe.
I'll be depressed, MB will loose a customer for life, but I'll move on.

This tread is over 2 years old...
So what You see is just photoshop pics done long before the w204 was out.
But I'm really impressed of the interior pic.
Its looks just the way it looks today when we can se the finished car. Well almost anyway. Posted 2004!
Too bad, because a C350 engine and updated manual tranny would have really kicked sales back up. MBUSA, I think was a little short-sighted.
Look how many people are buying those little Echos, Yaris, and Ford Fiesta looking cars nowadays ? They are priced in the $20k range, not to far off from the price I paid for my V6 C-Coupé.

I've noticed the price of cars in the us is much much lower..
I paid $57k for my coupe.. thats about $50k US.
I bought it with 25,000km on the clock, base model and its a 2L non supercharged engine.
how much would one set me back in the US?
btw, its a 2002 model.. mercs hold their value here in australia.
