7G-tronic conversion into 7G-tronic plus A89 code
Have a problems with current electric plate which need to be replaced, I'm on 7g-tronic 722.9 and readed a lot of information that code A89 is a code for 7gtronic plus and that it gives a more responsive accelerator pedal and looking at the EPC program, in order to convert to 7gtronic plus only need to replace the hydraulic plate and the filter with pan etc.
Can anybody give me some suggestion about that? Seems I need to code electric plate, but for my VIN it will not activate A89 code, what can I do?
Thanks

A89 refers to reduced friction that improves fuel economy. But I don’t think conductor plates from 7G-Tronic Plus and 7G-Tronic are interchangeable. The 7G-Tronic Plus uses different transmission fluid and has different friction material in the clutch packs. I could be wrong, but I think what the EPC is indicating are the different conductor plates and pans for the two transmissions.

So maybe as Viktori says, if you use the conductor plate, solenoids, and new pan from a Plus but stay with the old red transmission fluid (236.14) because you still have the old clutch packs, maybe everything works okay. Or maybe better.
The only problem that may occur would be if the Plus conductor plate cannot adjust for the solenoid fill times with the 236.14 fluid, which is higher viscosity.

there is strange things comment on video that a89 gives start-stop, currently I have already start-stop function from construction.
With old oil it will not works due velocity.

I have A89 but do not have start/stop. You have start/stop but do not have A89.
You have researched this deeply and only an actual Mercedes transmission specialist will know more.

Have you successfully placed 7g+ trans in a 7g car?
So please explain why your commercial here?

You have something against BenzNinja? I never said he was the only one who could help, but you're the one saying, "official dealer will give big price". I recommend @BenzNinja because he has always been able to help me with my coding requirements and is able to do it remotely. And I'm not sure you know what is involved in coding the 7G TCM. I'm pretty sure it requires access to Mercedes online servers in addition to having an SDS.

I think a 7G+ swap in on a 7G car is possible. But I haven’t researched the details since I’m done with 204s completely. Maybe an ECU flash to a version that came with an A89 car would be appropriate, but I doubt it’s required since the conductor plate handles everything except the actual shift command. Getting the ECU, TCU, EIS all synced to the VIN is the big issue.

another case that you not even read a thread and starting to help linking to a message which I posted a year ago, respectful twice.
Mercedes online server is not requred for any coding in this car, cuz it's old, but you can't know it, because you post recommends without reading a thread.
So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me "Godfather." You come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married and you ask me to do murder - for money
