Clarification of AC Compressor Part Number Used In w204 2013 c350
Hello,
I have a 2013 w204 c350 with a broken AC system. The AC is not cooling with the error number "P064515: The output for the magnetic clutch of the air conditioning has a malfunction. There is a short circuit to positive or an open circuit.".
I saw this post (https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...lutch-air.html) about replacing the magnetic clutch, but debating if it is worth the effort vs just buying a new ac compressor and replacing the whole unit.
The thing is, I am not too sure exactly what the part number of the ac compressor associated with my vehicle is.
I searched on mbparts.mbusa.com for my vehicle and there are two ac units associated with my VIN (https://mbparts.mbusa.com/v-2013-mer...and-compressor).
1. A/C Compressor - Mercedes-Benz (000-830-21-00) Excluding Magnetic Coupling (https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...MtNWwtdjYtZ2Fz)
2. A/C Compressor - Mercedes-Benz (000-830-23-00-80) Including Magnetic Coupling (https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...MtNWwtdjYtZ2Fz)
I called a benz dealership to confirm which AC unit is associated with my vehicle and they pointed to the second one:
- A/C Compressor - Mercedes-Benz (000-830-23-00-80) Including Magnetic Coupling (https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...MtNWwtdjYtZ2Fz)
However, I looked underneath the hood and see that the part number on the sticker of my AC compressor unit is A0012305011:
- https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...MtNWwtdjYtZ2Fz
But the AC Compressor Unit with part number A0012305011 says it does not fit my car and is meant for 2008 to 2010 models.
I am confused and wondering if anyone has some insight to this. Could a previous owner have swapped out the original AC compressor unit with an older unit and I just didn't know, but still worked for over 8+ years?
Other Oddities To Note:
- When Clicking the AC button on the dashboard temp control unit, it turns red, blinks three times, and then turns off
- A few years back, a bird went inside my grill and chewed off the wire harness connecting the outside temperature gauge (right above the front lip) which led to a failure in my ac for some reason? Once I replaced the outside temperature gauge, I had to splice the wire harness to reconnect it to the outside temperature gauge and my ac started working again for a while. This could possibly be related to the failures Im experiencing with my AC unit?
