C250 Headlight Upgrade
Hello all. I have a 2014 C250 and have never been happy with the quality of the headlights. I have attempted to search on here without success. Can anyone recommend the best way to upgrade the headlights so that I can avoid running into any curbs, or worse, at night? I am in the Portland Oregon area if you even know a business here that does quality work. Thank you for your time!

When I got my 2010 C300 I was shocked at how bad the headlights were, they seemed dim and hardly light up the road ahead to point I felt it was dangerous. In my previous car which was a Grand Cherokee I installed an aftermarket hid kit so I did that in the Mercedes and it makes such a positive difference. My headlights are the H7 halogen bulbs with projector lenses so the hid was perfect for it. just in general i would probably install an hid kit in any car I get that has regular halogen bulbs, but with this Mercedes its something I felt I had to do right away.
They are not dot approved so not sure a business would install them. I do everything myself so never bothered to look into it.
I included photos of what I did in this thread:

I upgraded my halogen bulbs to HID'S as well. If you are going to upgrade to HID's, make sure you get a CANBUS HID kit.
Our cars run off of a CAN-BUS network and non CANBUS HID's will give you problems and error codes (ask me how I know) lol
I went with the innovited 35w AC CANBUS HID kit off of Amazon.

If I found a set of the HID headlights on a junkyard car, can I just install those in place of the halogen units (plug-n-play), or would I need to have the dealer (or some other shop with the appropriate equipment) reconfigure the car so the HIDs work correctly?
