Lowbeam issue

Happy near year all, my driver-side aftermarket low beam keeps going out ~10 seconds after turning the car on. I switched the bulbs, replaced the ballast, switched the fuses, and added dielectric grease on all the connections and the driver-side light keeps going out. Any ideas?

Posting what exact aftermarket low beam youre talking about would help. Did you replace the entire headlight or just the bulbs?

I would start switching parts around if it were me. Swap the passenger side ballast to the drivers side then see.

If you turn the light switch off then on again does the light turn on again, or stay off?

Not sure of the exact make, they came with the car.

Swapped the ballasts already and it's still the same side going out.

It stays off if I switch them on/off.

Im going to assume the car came from the factory with regular halogen bulbs and an hid kit is installed at the low beam?

Do the high beams work? Does a low beam out warning show on the dash display when the low beam goes out?

I would inspect all the wiring and look for spliced connections. I installed an hid kit and its all plug and play, no cuttng wires and splicing. Just take the factory harness and connect it to the hid kit.

If you took the ballast and bulb from the working side and installed it on the non-working side and it still does not function properly theres an issue with the wiring, im guessing.

If the car originally came with halogen low beams you can try installing a halogen bulb and see what happens, completely remove the hid stuff.

You can use a multimeter and check for voltage at the cars factory harness. Should be 12v when the lights are on.

I checked the fuse and replay diagram and both headlights seem to be on the same circuit so I dont think thats the issue.

Maybe post some photos of what it looks like in there so i have a better idea what is exactly in there.

HID Error Canceller could be the solution. Installed it, only 2 occasions with lights out when driving and haven’t seen that issue since. I think a better ballast will fix it.

Yes, car came from factory with halogen bulbs. Previous owner installed hid lowbeams and I don't have the factory halogens. I can take some pictures tomorrow. What I find odd is that when turning the car on, the lights work for 5-10 seconds. If it is a wiring issue, it might be further upstream than the ballast?
