C220 CDI 2013 fluid leak

Hi guys just joined the forum as I have purchased my 1st Mercedes C220CDI 2.2 auto 2013 model.

I have noticed looking directly down from the slam panel what appears to be some sort of cooler with a green type oil/fluid leaking.

Question is what is the part and what could the fluid be?

Thanks for any advice.

I dont have that engine so im just guessing its coolant. I thought later models use the red coolant, my 2010 uses the blueish coolant. I looked around and maybe this diagram shows the parts?

To me, that looks like your oil cooler /trans cooler.

Based on the color of that fluid, that's the color of the transmission fluid most cars from this generation use.

I tried searching that part number A0995002800, but couldn't make out the last four digits so I guessed. Came up as a radiator/intercooler.

The 2800# was coming up with a large radiator. I think its more like 0995002300- Transmission oil cooler.

I think the hose/fittings are leaking. But hard to tell just from the photo.

Hi many thanks for your input the actual part number is A0995002300
I am going to clean it all off tomorrow and see if I can see exactly where it is leaking
The cooling hose couplings look interesting I’ll check them out also.

Anytime, happy to help. I gave your pic another look and it could also be coolant (if your car is running the blue coolant). Hard to tell which fluid it is from the pic.

But it's either trans fluid or coolant being, blue in color.

I wouldn't be surprised if the plastic coupler cracked/is leaking from a hard hit or vibration.

Good luck, keep us posted.

If I remove the T union is there going to be any pressure resulting in loads of fluid loss?

Yes, you will lose fluid. There may not be a ton of pressure if the car hasn't been started but it is going to flow out because it's a very low point in the system.

Try and figure out what type of fluid it is before you go and take it apart.

If it's coolant and seeing it is a very low point on the system, you minds well just do a full flush because you are going to drain all of it out basically.

if it's trans fluid, that needs to be pumped in from the trans pan.

Identify fluid first then go from there.
