P2015 and P2016 on my Mercedes 2013 C250 Coupe

I really cant recommend one over the other since i have little to no experience with scanners in the first place.
For me I figured a scanner that is bi-directional, scans all systems, can run system tests and gives real time data is all id ever need. I know one trip to the dealer for them to scan the car is expensive so i figured $200 budget is worth the cost of a scanner. You may have more to spend.
I bought the Foxwell NT730 scanner. I havent really used it since nothings broken but I played around with it and it seems to do alot of things. Before i plugged in the Foxwell scanner i did check and erase any codes showing, but when I hooked the Foxwell up it had a bunch of other stored codes. So it does give alot more detailed info. One thing i really wanted it for is to read the transmission fluid temp since i plan of servicing the trans myself.
I like the Foxwell because its free lifetime updates. There have been two updates to the software so far since owning it the past year. Plus it works as a basic scanner for other cars as well, i read check engine codes with it on a neighbors Jeep. Then if i want to upgrade to more detailed Jeep software its only around $60 to download it to the unit.
Id look for one that has Mercedes software obviously, full system check, bi-directional, free updates.

@hbrd as Tim suggested visually inspect the intake piping. It’s ALL plastic.
check to make sure the air filter housing is seating correctly over the hooks/clips that it locks into. Do you know if any previous work was done on the intake side of the engine before you purchased and it sat?
sometimes the air oil separator (AOS) pipe can crack. OR a sensor came loose or someone didn’t put a sensor all the way in.
possibly a vacuum line. There is a vacuum line that connect to the throttle body in the front. One also runs across the top of the engine. Ensure those are all tight and not leaking or have any punctures.
I would start with an inspection and see if anything is cracked, loose, or not seating properly.

I think Tim uses a Foxwell scanner, but the LAUNCH Creader Elite 2.0 BENZ is a popular one on these forums because it does allow limited coding of modules. A generic OBD scanner will not. AND, you can add other brands of cars through the Mall. I have added Honda/Acura and VW/Audi to mine.
