I've redone the full front suspension and I will start soon on the rear suspension. Most likely only going for the parts that are really needed and what's able to be done later on I won't rush but will keep my eyes on the wear.
I intend to do ignition coils and spark plugs within another 10,000 - 15,000KM tops as well.
You can never be too sure of what the previews owners did and I feel like making sure everything is flushed and fresh with new oils and fluids is key to keep a 2009 Benz running like new.

i switched to 5w-40 molygen from liquimoly for my engine oil.
I buy all my stuff from FCPEuro, Amazon, AutohausAZ.
I like the MB oil filter over the MANN one that came in my last oil change kit from FCP. But that just my own personal preference. I felt it went on and off the oil filter stem easier.
for the rear suspension, you should check if your subframe is rusting/rotting out. Not sure if you live in a climate that inhibits that. I had my subframe replaced under the extended warranty at my local MB dealership. They replaced the entire subframe and I had them install new struts, coil springs, all the rear control arms, rear sway bar, lower control arm bushings get replaced as well. Definitely something to check and look into!

I only use the Purflux filters. They are OE (same a Genuine, but without the Mercedes logo). The zigzag shape of the filter material increases filter surface area.
Most, if not all, of my consumables (fluids, filters, wiper blades, etc.) I get from FCP Euro because of their Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. I pay once and then take the reimbursement on future purchases. This is especially true for the Magic Vision wiper blades on the SL--those things are damned expensive! Any durable, non-maintenance part that I expect to ever replace once, I first look for the best price.

My car has records showing it was regularly maintained at MB dealers. I'll just follow the recommendations in the Maintenance Manual. Yearly oil changes, 2yr brake fluid flush, 4yr air filter change etc.
- Mobil1 oil- Local Walmart
- Zerex G48 50/50 coolant- Local Napa auto parts
- Febi diff gear oil- Local IDParts store (online store that happens to be close).
- Mann oil filter/ Air filter- eEuro or FCP
- Mercedes Dot4+ brake fluid- ebay 1 liter tins cheap.
- Shell ATF134- 6 pack quarts on Amazon around $45 shipped.
Mines a 2010 with over 150,000 miles, always been a New England car so the underside has wear/rust. I have saved alot of money buying used Mercedes parts off ebay from California salvage cars. I look for parts in great condition for cheap money. Not looking to restore the car, just keep it in good running condition for as long as possible.
OIL FILTER: Purflux L394 (every oil change)
COOLANT: Valvoline Zerex (per maintenance schedule)
TRANSMISSION FLUID: Pentosin/Fuchs ATF 134FE (every 65,000 miles or 6 years)
AXLE FLUID: TBD
STEERING FLUID: Pentosin/Fuchs CHF 11S (C350 only; as needed)
BRAKE FLUID: ATE DOT4 SL.6 (every 2 years)
AIR FILTER: Hengst (every 45,000 miles or 4 years or as needed)

I do hear a whining noise when driving especially at high way speeds which i was always wondering if it was the power steering pump.
My Operators manual says to use MB Power Steering Fluid ( Chevron Texaco PSF 9109). I cant find it for sale anywhere. I looked on the MB Bevo and there are no recommended fluids even listed.
What is the approval number? I see the Pentosin CHF 11S has MB Approval 345 on the label. Is that the right one, MB 345?
I was looking on FCP for what they recommend for power steering fluid and came across Mercedes Power Steering Fluid additive. i decided to see if they have it at my local MB dealer and they list an updated part # but it is labeled as Trans additive? Was thinking about getting a bottle and add it in. Wonder how much to add.

I put the whole bottle of additive in and topped off with some CHF. I have not had anymore power steering whine.
I also asked my local MB dealership and they said the same thing. It's just a shot of transmission fluid.

Levity aside, Googling Lubrizol 6178 says it’s a friction modifier, which makes sense if it’s meant to control whine. Appears to be for PS systems and transmissions, at least going by the above screenshots. I might try it if I remember to use it, as I’ve had a whine from the transmission when cruising at zero load from mile 9. Currently at 241k so I’ll know if it makes a difference.

I got a 1 liter tin of the Pentosin CHF 11S that happen to be on sale on Amazon yesterday. I just looked and its back up to $27 today.
