There will be 3 versions of the C Class: Sport, Classic, and Elegance.

Like pmb600 stated, the Sport (the red one pictured in this thread) is the sport, which does not have the star on the hood, but rather then MB star in the grill.

Again, more proof as to why we shouldn't be going off of this picture. They even admitted to photshopping some of it, so it's open to interpatation, especially the grill!

the main thing MB had going for it was its good style/looks..but after seeing these pictures..I feel that alot of buyers are going to move away from the brand. what got me interested in MB in the first place was C55's awesome style , then the w210 etc. Now, I think MB has lost its direction, unique identity and the strongest reason why people chose it..THAT IT IS NOT A ACURA/TOYOTA

oh well get the old "classics' before they are gone.

We finally have a date!

The New 2008 Mercedes C-class will be unveiled on January 18th, 2007.

http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2006/12...-unveiled.html

While searching the net for more info concerning the validity or not of a pic we found this morning featuring the 2008 Mercedes GLK –or-MLK, we stumble upon a very interesting article on Automobilwoche, which is a sister publication of Autonews. According to the German news-zine, the next generation Mercedes C-Class will be presented for the first time on January the 18th in Stuttgart, with its public premiere following in March at the Geneva Motor Show (sales start in Europe on April).
I also just read MB has stopped production of the w203 on December 14th.

New Image from South Africa. Looks fantastic in white! This is what I expected!

Sorry, thought this deserved it's own post. Apparantly, these are some shots that have been prepared for the 18th.

I love it!! Those pics of the Red Sport that were released a couple of weeks ago do not do justice for the w204!!!

I'm liking the looks of it from the rear. I can already see the quad tail pipes for the C63. Can't wait to see it in WHITE!

If this is what the new W204 production will look like, then I dig it. I STILL think the outside mirrors are too big though...........

imo, the w203 is still better looking..but it looks very similar to the 3 -series especially the side 'flaming' surface , and the rear end treatment.

W203 would turn way more heads then the new W204s. The new ones just look like an old-folk retirement car

The rear looks great. I'm really waiting for the official unveiling of it. Hope the mirrors are smaller and the interior looks great!

I think it was discussed a page back the the mirrors will be smaller in North America, and that they are bigger in the pics due to European guidelines, or something to that effect....

I like, I like... The ones in South Africa look like the 'real photos', and it looks good. I suppose we'll soon be seeing the 'real thing' anyway. Hopefully they'll have an AMG kit for it and it'll look aggressive. So far in the pictures I see, it looks more luxurious than sports sedan.

We'll see...

I'm very pleased to see that the mirrors are larger. I"m willing to sacrifice appearance for better rear visibility. The W203/211 mirrors are too small for safety.

I was the one that posted about the mirror guidelines in the EU. While I am not sure, I think they will be the same in the US, look at the 2007 facelifted E-Class, they have the same shaped larger mirrors. What I can't explain is the 2007 S-Class and CL-Class mirrors, since they are very small and oval shaped. One review I saw somewhere said that was one of the cars few negative attributes because of bad visibility.

Wow, it looks disappointingly like the Acura TL from the front, just different head lights. The sides, shape, and stance are really similar. I hope it comes out differently.

I agree the W203 has more style. Softer Porsche like features. Smooth curves. Headlight shape looks more unique. Very proportional car. Interior does look more expensive too. You can't confuse it with any other car.

The 204 trunk looks smaller (stubby), car height looks higher, Headlights & tails look like a japanese car, no offense. Looks like they used more plastics on the interior console. The C63 with AMG styling may be the only version of this car I would consider because of AMG's aggresive styling... and the engine! Base models will definitely need a aftermarket facelift. Let's see what Lorinser, Brabus & Carlsson come up with!!!
